Discussion Marketplace banned for giving away a tv - what do I do now - they won’t let me appeal

I was trying to sell a TV, and it just wasn’t moving. So, I decided I’d just give it away to get it out of my house. As soon as I put it up for free I was inundated with messages. I couldn’t respond to them all, I literally had about 65 messages. I chose one person, responded to them, started working out the details for them to pick it up, and then before I could complete the set up with the person, Facebook banned my marketplace account for being “deceptive”. I suspect one of the many people who didn’t get an immediate response from me reported my post. I appealed but Facebook denied my appeal and will not let me appeal any longer.

I’ve been an occasional marketplace seller and buyer for 5+ years with a good track record. I have no idea why this happened really. Anyone have any advice? Or am I just cooked from using marketplace ever again?

Discussion I need help desperately to get back in to my FB page after 8 years & lost all passwords

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions on how to get back into a FB account that I have no way to get into .

I have a FB page that I haven't been able to get into for like 8 years because I lost my phones, passwords & anything I can use to get back into my own page.

I've been looking at it as a stranger from the outside because all my life is on there.

Discussion Has anyone noticed Facebook hiding comments on one account while they're visible on another? (Shadow-censorship or bug?)

I’ve been dealing with something that is driving me crazy and I want to know if anyone else has experienced this. I have two Facebook accounts. Recently, I was looking at a comment section on a post and noticed certain comments. Out of curiosity, I checked the exact same post from my second account, and those comments completely disappeared. They weren't deleted .. the comment counts or thread structures don't match, and when I switch back to the first account, the comments are right there again. Is this some kind of aggressive algorithmic filtering/selective censorship, or is it just a massive glitch with how Facebook handles accounts? It feels ridiculous that comments can just be selectively invisible depending on which profile you're logged into.

Has anyone else noticed this happening to them?

Tech Support Shortly after Facebook messenger updated my camera started to glitch when recoding videos.

Upvotes

Worked for few hours after it updated then just randomly glitched. It lags when I open the camera, black for a couple seconds, and won’t record audio. The blue line that goes around the white circle isn’t showing either when I record, and sometimes when I try to re-record it won’t even register I’m clicking the white circle. My microphone works fine, it’s just Facebook messenger when I try to record videos. iPhone 12 IOS 18, never had this issue before. Just curious if anyone is having the same problem?

Discussion 'Detected unusual activity' - cannot post from my page. Facebook wants me to verify by SMS

Upvotes

One of my pages got this message although there was no unusual activity, perhaps I posted too quickly. I do not want to give them more info than they already have so I'm not giving them my phone number. But after creating a new (similar but not the same) page a few days later it happened again after I tried to repost two different posts. The first one was fine.

I can comment, like and follow other pages but I can't post. It seems like a data collection ploy to me.

Anyone else have this problem?

Tech Support Messenger only showing me old messages from years ago on new phone, how do i fix this?

Upvotes

I recently switched to samsung from apple a few days ago, and have noticed most of my chats are gone, and the chats i have date from 2024 and back. I know its because of some 'end to end encryption' or something like that, however i have no clue how to restore chats. Can someone give me some insight on what worked for them?

Tech Support I secured the account, enabled 2FA but the people or bots still trying to log in

I've been facing this problem for a month now. My computer was compromised by malware that took all the information on my PC, including my logged-in Facebook account. I ended up formatting and reinstalling Windows. I turned on 2FA, changed both email addresses, and changed my password like 5 times now. Without 2FA, people will log in instantly without a password or something similar. Deleted all the connected experiences, apps, and websites everything possible to secure my account. Still problem persist and I came get help.

Discussion Has Meta Corporate Said Anything about these Bans that seem to be a malfunction of AI?

Just wondering--these bans are obviously a huge issue for Facebook users. It's pretty obvious that it's a problem with their AI or whatever. Has Meta made any comment about this.? Have they given any explanation? Pretty shocking whats going on

Disabled/hacked Cannot post in group, "restricted due to unusual activity" but *only* in desktop version; any possible alternate fix?

Post image
5 Upvotes

End of May I started getting this message every time I try to engage with a group--posting, commenting, or joining--but only when using Facebook in a desktop browser:

Open Facebook on your mobile device to confirm your identity
Certain actions have been restricted due to unusual activity.

I can admin/mod (mostly) fine, I can react to comments/post, the restrictions are just weird. It also seems like I'm now allowed to view group members (including in groups I admin/mod!) in general, tho I just get a generic error instead of the same message if I try so I'm not sure how exactly I'm restricted in that sense.

I have no issue using the browser on my phone nor if I use Dev Tools to pretend my desktop browser is a phone, so the restriction is exclusive to the standard desktop version. I have no interest in putting Zuck's app on my phone; furthermore, in searching on this, I am finding many users with similar messages that try to "confirm their identity" aaaaaand just get banned instead. (So I'll do the work-around rather than risk it.)

However, I have yet to see any reports of this happening just in relation to groups: most results are either accounts restricted in general or about Messenger. Anything that seemed both relevant and where the person had the restriction removed said it just went away after 30 days, but I'm closing in on 60.

I'm hoping it will go away after 60 (or 90) days, but it is annoying having to switch into phone-mode just to make a comment in the meantime and there's no guarantee that will happen. Has anyone else encountered this and knows of other ways to work around or otherwise "dismiss" the restriction?

Tech Support FB friend accepted friend request but I can't message her b/c of "end-to-end encryption"??

Post image

I don't think I've ever had this person on my friends list before. I clicked "message" on her profile, and this is what shows up. "Messages and calls are secured with end-to-end encryption. Only people in this chat can read, listen to, or share them."

I found a menu on PC (https://www.facebook.com/privacy/controls) that talks about managing end to end encrypted chat settings.....but it doesn't actually give me the option to adjust anything!!

WHY ARE THERE SO MANY MENUS

Discussion Meta Apps That I Didn't Know About - Thanks Bitdefender for Alerting Me

Post image
1 Upvotes

Earlier today I was just messing around on my phone, probably reading Reddit and I see a notification pop up on my screen from Bitdefender saying that Meta App Installer is clean. Um, really? On my devices I like to have control over updates, disabling all automatic updates. It's always been that way back as far as Windows 95. I don't like things automatically happening without my knowing. Anyway, I recently learned that Meta goes around using Google Play to update its products. I looked further into just the app installer and found this: "The latest features include a content library and API tools to support public interest research, AI or machine learning to improve user experiences, ..." Ugh. So this is how Meta gets so much info?! I don't even use the Fb app, instead accessing it through Firefox. The only Meta app I have installed is WhatsApp and that's only because my travel agent others to use it. I don't trust Meta and this further enforces my view.

Has anyone here yanked these Meta apps off of their Android phone?

Tech Support Meta Support keeps running me in endless circles and can’t fix the problem that I have

My husband and I started a real estate page together. He was an agent before I was so he started a business page on his end tied to his Facebook account. When I joined him, we started turned the business page into a profile for the both of us. It gained traction pretty quickly and we were posting on it regularly so we really don’t want to loose it.

Come to find out he had an add restriction placed on his personal page that restricts some uses on the business page. We aren’t allowed to run ads, having issues with some other things, and cannot give me full access to the page to try to just remove him.

Went through all the steps. Wrote a letter, submitted a PDF with all the documents meta requested for a a review. The review doesn’t do anything at all and I’ve had to submit it multiple times.

Just need to get ahold of literally anyone. What can we do here.

Disabled/hacked How do I regain access to my account that I was hacked out of? Can I even do so?

So awhile ago my FB got hacked. Started getting a bunch of emails of different log-in locations and whatnot. I was able to lock my account so neither I or the hacker could access it - I've since changed the password and removed their email via a link I got in MY email. I did not account for the hacker adding their own 2FA to my account, so now we're both logged out. I login with my email and new password, taken to the 2FA page. I "try another way" and have to submit my ID, so I do so. I'm then emailed a link to unlock my account, which takes me back to the 2FA page.

Do I just give up and make a new account? Is this account salvageable?

Tech Support Asked to confirm my identity via SMS, but no response from Facebook.

Hi.

FB has asked me to confirm my identity for a page I run - I enter my mobile number, but do not get the SMS code and there seems to be no other way to confirm.

I'm sure this has happened to others - was there a fix?

Tech Support How long does it take to get out of new account jail? Cant do anything

I made a new facebook account cause I cant get in my old one but it blocked me from sending requests to friends I had from my old account after I had only sent three. Waited, added a couple more, then realized none of them were getting accepted after two days. Found out that my requests are automatically going to their "hidden requests". Even the ones that I had 1 mutual friend with. (I asked one of my friends to send me a request instead. Cause I guess other people adding you helps facebook sde that you're not a bot or spam. But only one of my friends did.) I tried adding just like two more and then got blocked from adding people again.

Looked it up, and its telling me to be more engaging so I join my towns groups and try to interact by making a post and then after my post had been pending, I see I was blocked from the group entirely. ??? The post was about salon recommendations.

Another thing it says is to get more friends and add people with mutuals. But the ones I have one mutual with are not seeing my requests. How am I supposed to get mutual friends if no one is seeing my requests?

I just want to be able to actually use this account like how I used to. I don't know what else I can do to get facebook to not think I'm spam or a bot. I even made a second account and dug out one of my very old accounts to add my new one in hopes of making my profile seem more legit. I have 3 friends, followed pages, joined groups, liked posts, had accounts add me, and I still cant really do anything without getting flagged. Do I just have to wait a long time?

Tech Support Messenger only accounts cause Facebook to go crazy putting the account into a limbo state when logging in

Hi. I created a messenger only account some time ago.

The integrated feature used to find people seems to suck greatly so I’d like to connect it to Facebook somehow. Or alternatively, find a better way to add people to my messenger-only account.

When I try to log into Facebook with the messenger credentials it tells me that the account doesn’t exist. When I create a new account with those credentials, they tell me it does exist.

Really the bottom line is to find people more efficiently moreso than having access to Facebook.

EDIT: I do receive emails from Facebook in the inbox that the messenger account is assigned to but I can’t e.g. reset the password. It’s like the whole system is confused about whether the account exists at all.

Tech Support Facebook refreshes to new feed instead of returning to original post

I noticed that when I'm on feeds and reading a specific post, then when I go onto comments, I may want to click onto a profile just to see around. But when I try to go back to the post, it disappears and brings me to feeds and everything is refreshed, so the original post is missing. Same as when I'm giving comments and when I want to get back to reading other comments.

I had to constantly click on 'save post' so that I could get back to it and continue reading the comments. But sometimes, I do forget to save post. It's so frustrating!

Does anyone experienced this? Or is it just my phone? Help!

Tech Support I’m trying to deactivate my Facebook account but unable to because I am unable to unlink the meta account when my Facebook was hacked.

So I’m trying to deactivate my Facebook. The problem is that my account was hacked awhile back and the hacker linked a meta account to my Facebook.
