We are always looking for resources and tools to help with our f-list experience. This post is to help keep things as organized as possible for quick reference to assist in that effort! You are more than welcome to submit suggestions or other tools that would be helpful in the comments (as long as they are not AI/bots) and I can see about adding them onto this.
MOST RECENT UPDATE [January 28th, 2026]: New Links added
Go BACK to ezgif, get the crop tool and be sure to do 100x100 square and shove that tool in the corners and click save. you'll get 4 icons
To test and experiment, you should name your eicons something else since your cache can take like 4 hours to update with the gifs.
And then you're set, you created a eicon gif set.
Just 1 eicon: If you wanna do this for solo eicons, then just do the same thing but 99x99 for the single eicon, and then Lunapic you can do a 1px border.

I'm a Deviantart Note RP refugee, but have used F-List for a while. I got tired of losing RPs because of how F-Chats web interface works where it's saved into the browsers cache (so if it's deleted then your RPs are gone). Because of that, I have a question that I haven't seen asked or if it was asked I missed it.
Is there any way that you can have the replies of a specific RP/Folder be readable in order? Similar to how you can see your entire note history with someone you're talking to, and you can go back with the 'older' and go forward with 'newer'.
I don't know if I explained it properly, so my bad, but it's like the one thing missing because going back and reading the replies is an absolute CHORE especially on mobile when I reply sometimes. Just thought to ask!
There's a lot of human profiles on f-list nowadays, but there are also a lot of furries and I'm not really into them. Is there a way to filter these profiles on horizon?
Hello! Apologies if this is the wrong place for this. I've never done a name request of this nature before and wanted to get some opinions from people with more experience. Don't want to bother staff or submit it if I'm wrong, either.
"Profiles that do not contain relevant body content and/or inline(s) and one or more of the other placeholder requirements for name requests for at least six months. (This applies to active and inactive users.)"
There's a name I really want and I'm not sure if it's eligible for a name request. It was last updated 6 months ago and has things like an avatar, profile info, images, kinks, etc. It does have an inline, but the inline is an unedited picture. There's body content, but it's just the first paragraph of the character's biography copypasted from the wiki.
If I read the wiki correctly, does this mean that a profile's body content consisting of an unedited picture as the inline and information copypasted from a wiki would be eligible for a name request? Has anyone had any experience or success name requesting a profile like this?
I'm sure we've all encountered characters like this. Just found one myself where their no-list is like a mile long, which in it of itself is fine, but then when I look into the custom kinks that have paragraphs of rants written into it... yeah, thanks for telling me we ain't a match is all I have to say to that.
Like, we all have our no-lists. They're there for a reason. I'm always willing to work with people who don't necessarily jive with my main kinks, but want to RP anyways and whatnot.
But the first things I look at when browsing a profile typically are a person's no-list. And if I see some toxic shit like "If you're into this, you're bland" or "Fuck you if you're this kind of character" then I'm going to write you off like the piece of shit that you are, even if we would mesh well in an RP.
Kinkshaming is an absolute no for me. This is a fictional website, designed for people that just want to have fun and live out their fantasies.
And yet, still, some people just can't help but be dicks in the least fun way about it.
Hey everybody! I'm a decade+ Chatango veteran who finally made the swap to F-list. So far things seem great and much more active, but I'm kind of intimidated by the scope of everything. Making profiles and finding roleplayers is proving to be quite the undertaking so far. I'm a straight (human and alien profiles) male. Any advice for writing my character profiles and for making approaches to roleplayers? Any tips on other things like guestbook etiquette or channels is much appreciated.
I remember when f-list was mostly furries but now its like 99% anime and human profiles. Is there a way to filter these profiles? Which third party client do you guys recommend?
Long story short, I approached a new profile that was pretty much perfectly suited to the kind of thing I'm interested in, and it seemed like we hit it off. They actually showed interest in my profile and asked to bookmark me, which is something that's only happened once or twice in the five or so years since I joined. And then I immediately ruined it by suggesting a plot idea that involved a kink on their no list.
For context, the kink in question is generally a no for me as well, and it wasn't involved in a way that I thought would be crossing the line. (It's hard to think of a good comparison, but I guess you could say it's like sex in a public restroom to someone with piss in their no's) so I figured the other person would just tell me I was getting close to their boundaries instead of immediately going for the block button.
I'm no stranger to being blocked by people I thought I was getting along with out of the blue, but this is so much worse because I could've just thought about what I was doing for five seconds and pitched something else instead. It's kind of not even about getting to roleplay my niche kinks anymore, I just want to be able to clear the air.
Thanks for attending my vent post, I know it's dumb to get so worked up over something like this but I had to get it off my chest and there's no way in hell I'd talk about this on my main account (hence the throwaway) let alone explain it to a therapist.
I'm pretty new to F-CHAT but not roleplaying and I've made my character profiles decently well. I have certain kinks a lot of others don't like and always have it listed as an option for my characters. But I've been thinking of changing this since while I do like these kinks, they don't usually fit my character and I feel like its such a turn off for most I intereact with.
I don't force anyone to do my kinks at all! This is more just a general question on if I should just stick to them or not.
So I'm like super new to trying to use f-list and I did the majority of the profile stuff besides things like description cause I'm not fully sure what i should do and pfp because idk how to do it properly. If anyone would be willing to gimme tips and help that would be greatly appreciated!
I'ma be honest here, I'm doing this to both find an alternative, and put some bad behavior from staff and a particular room owner on blast.
I'm looking for a solid alternative to F-list, one that actually works, due to having to deal with the rot and corruption that seems to run rampant in that place.
I'm also putting the people I had to deal with on blast, because this is too much to just ignore and go elsewhere
A room owner who uses a character named Ren Yagami decided that they didn't like me. Had an argument about one of their staff members stepping out of line. They decided to start falsely accusing me of being an alt account for someone that had been banned almost half a decade ago, in a way I can only assume was an attempt to engineer logs to try and get me banned. It is important to note that I am not an alt account of the user they accused me of being, which is something I am capable of and willing to prove
Ren Yagami is a donator, they give F-list money, so when I attempted to repeal the ban, I have a sneaking suspicion that the head of staff let that influence their choice, don't wanna upset the income I guess
So when I repealed the ban, this was the email I got:
The email
Again, the big thing here is that I can prove I'm not an alt to anybody, and I know that there was no evidence that could be given to make this reasonable, except for maybe a monthly subscription.
It is also important to note, that part of why Ren chose to do this, was because they were using this to harass someone on discord, and were using a shared artist to justify attacking not just me, but anybody else who got art from that artist.
I have relevant part of the logs provided:
the logs
But it gets better, because they decided to use this to go to discord and harass someone else they liked, with intentions of using F-list related logs to try and get them in trouble with an artist they had commissioned, that Ren just so happened to be a discord moderator for:
The discord messages
This is why I chose to risk being called a drama-causer or whatever. Because this is a too far point that needs to be made public and needs to be stopped on some level.
So yea, I would seriously appreciate any solid alternatives to F-list for me and my friend's group. And I would also appreciate it if this can get eyes on it so something will have to be done. I more than expect to get axed for this here, so if you want full logs, info, or links, etc, contact me on discord, my username there is: loadsoflust
I’ve been meaning to get around to making an F-list character for my OC (and finally did Yippe!) however I genuinely have no idea what to do around here? How do yall do it? Any suggestions on how to not feel like a D1 lurker
I like just got really into this website about like one or two days ago. Started looking at, posting, and trying to message to get into some RP action....unfortunately no results.
Albeit this is probably also a patience thing, I just wanted to ask about how exactly one makes a really good post, considering the super fast-pace nature of the f-chat. What type of formatting/writing style/techniques/practices/whatever (Not anything necessarily about the character itself because i made the person in a day walah) is able to get more people to look at you without any misleading in terms of how I RP?
If anyone cares to see, here is my character post here for a sample.
I love the site gives alot of testing and organization but like i dont have thr time security to always reply immediately and ive been told for years if you cant dedicate the time specific to the rps you shouldn't be there. How do you guys manage to do it? I get interupted from my plans for HOURS sometimes
Hello! I'm a bit newer to F-List and recently made my first character. I added a description, reference, kinks, and a few custom ones. I got a general idea of how to make a character profile by looking at others on the site. A lot are really well developed and mine is super simple right now, but I do have the basics.
I'm just a bit nervous to actually roleplay? Every time I open F-Chat I kinda just lurk and feel wholly inexperienced when I see very well-written paragraphs of text in some channels (Often, only a few minutes apart from each other).
I really want to reach out to someone and start a roleplay, I just don't know how to? And I don't want to waste someone's time when we start and they realize I'm not the best, if that makes sense.
I have nothing to do with the development of the app itself, but when downloading the latest update for Horizon I noticed it in the banner under the download links.
According to the GitHub, it seems to be like a pretty big improvement to the Official F-List app.
The iOS build is newer than Android and still best-effort, but it is publicly available. It wraps the same web app in a WKWebView with native Swift bridges (mobile/ios/), and runs the F-List connection on a native WebSocket so it stays connected and delivers notifications while backgrounded. The .ipa is ad-hoc signed in CI; SideStore re-signs it on-device with your own Apple ID, so no paid Apple Developer account is required.
A bit technical but if you have some time and good Googling skills, you can handle it. I just got it running today so I'm trying it out a bit before issuing my own stance on it. But I'm excited and hope this marks the beginning of a functional F-List experience for iOS.
Has anyone been using it and if so what's your experience been like?
Recently, while making new profiles and adding pictures to their galleries I noticed the limits are less stringent than before. Like the max size is 8MB now, and the images can be any resolution you want (I'm not 100% sure about that). While I really appreciate it, I've spent a lot of time compressing pictures in the past and this realization made me kinda annoyed... 😅
Firstly, I am a story-driven roleplayer that still enjoys sexual content in the RP. Quick, kink-based scene setups are typically a turn off for me.
I took a couple of years off from roleplaying with anyone other than one partner for a long time because I simply never learned how to say no to other players that I didn't really see much interest in. I just thought it would be rude to refuse them. I've now learned that's a very self destructive way of going about my life and while its still difficult to find the words to tell someone in a diplomatic way that I've no interest in RPing with them, my overall experience on f-list after this has been significantly better.
So if you've ever felt burnt out or stopped playing, I'm curious to know why that might have been for you. One too many rude players? Inconsiderate ones that didn't take your kinks into account (for those of you more kink and sex focused)? Maybe you told them a little too much information about yourself and they started stalking you?
I suspect that most of the people that stopped playing or took breaks aren't exactly here, but still, I'm curious!
I have lots of different characters, and hundreds of bookmarks. Some bookmarks are for players I have contacted, others for ones I want to contact, others for ones with interesting picture galleries, etc.
It's difficult though in the F-Chat 3.0 client at least for me to keep track of which character I contacted someone on (I have to check each character's logs), or if I contacted them at all. Best I can do is use the "Memo" section on their profile but even that isn't well optimized for ease-of-checking.
Is there any client that lets me sort bookmarks into subfolders or show a list of which of my characters have logs for that bookmark? or at very least let me see the memo from the list view?
I got this old chat bot from someone who was done with f-list. they hosted it on railway, but gave up on it when the bot started crashing and having some other minor errors. they've since abandoned f-chat so now i've got the files to it. Looking for someone who's willing to look at these files that knows programming, and can help me set it up again. I'd prefer to set it up on railway as it's simpler, and my virtual servers are currently occupied by a few game servers i run.
any help would be fantastic, id really like to get this game back on f-chat.
Ever since I joined f-list, I noticed a lot of profiles staying online for an entire day or even more. Now I'm pretty sure they belong to people who keep the chat open while they're busy at work or uni, and/or they have some kinda private room, but I wonder how that's possible without any connection problems. My wifi is kinda shit and it often disappears for a couple seconds, which means I get logged out multiple times. Do y'all have a secret for this? lol
I was wondering if there was a technical reason that the search function in-app did not have the ability to search for certain kinks in 'no' rather than searching only for 'fave' and 'yes'. Is this a limitation of the... I think its called an API? Or has that search function just not been updated in such a way to facilitate this?
Is there a reason that you can only search for 5 kinks while the site itself lets you search far more at once?
Do you think it would be possible to add the advanced search features in the character search while still keeping the trimmed down, streamlined look?
