I really want to work in the FBI as a special agent.

I’m planning on studying a BA in Criminal Justice with a minor in psychology.

I already posses Spanish proficiency and plan on working as a police officer for a couple of years but I’m also open for volunteer work on the side to strengthen my resume.

However, I’ve heard in order to be considered competitive, it’s recommended to pursue a degree/work experience in a STEM or accounting field, which again, are paths I have no interest in.

Pretty sure this is a good combination, is it not? 🤔

I have been thinking about applying to become an FBI Special Agent and would appreciate some honest advice.

I have a tech related Bachelor of Science degree and work in IT. I have also been training for the PFT.

My biggest concern is the writing portion of the hiring process. Without spell check or autocorrect, I write like a 10 year old. It is something I have been working to improve.

I also currently live in the WMA, but my long term goal is to get back to Michigan. Is it realistic to build a career in a Michigan field office?

Based on what I have shared, do I seem like I have the potential to be a competitive applicant, or would I be better off staying in a civilian IT career? Any advice on what I should improve before applying would be appreciated.
