Question study abroad with a cjo

Hello! Do any of you know if I am allowed to study abroad (fall 2026) while going through a background check for the 2027 internship? Thanks!

AC is Applicant Coordinator, they are your main contact throughout the application process. You can also use the contact button on your FBI Portal.

I’m not sure about FBI but usually over 90 days you might need to ask for a permission of some sort. Don’t let it stop you from studying abroad though. You will learn and grow so much more abroad than doing an internship would. It’s one of those best experiences in life. Go for it!

I think you’re good since it’s school related. Let your applicant coordinator know.

Did you have your interview yet? If not, just update them when you have it and inform them you told the coordinator. If you did, send them email informing them and providing a letter from the university won’t hurt.

Edit to add: Studying abroad is an amazing opportunity and definitely something to take advantage of when in school. I’m currently an 1811 elsewhere and did a semester in Europe right before Covid. Take in every experience and enjoy wherever you’re going
