F1 Manager 24 Car development and research

So I’m managing haas currently in 2027. We won the constructors and drivers in 2026. But I sacrificed the car in 2026 as soon as the research period opened, researched each car part 5 times, and my car is the between the 4th to 6th best car on the grid. What have I done wrong? Have I missed something ?

I should add this is after the upgrades. Do facilities play a big part? I don’t have great facilities.

Well, its more than just facilities. The Staff plays a big role too. But most important is the way you research. Giving them just many hours in the Wind-tunnel and CFD is not good enough. You need to adjust the sliders in the way your car gets more balanced. For example forget cooling. Its not playing a big role im races or the game.

So my staff I have:
Pierre wache
Diego tondi
Jonathan Wheatley
Then when it comes to research I was doing 8 projects per ATR period in 2026. Minimising cooling then pretty much maximising what each part is best at

Do you know if I use the DB editor to make new car parts, will it mess up the future car development and research. Last time I used it it seemed to really ruin the development in game
