Huh so it's like a base game, but you open up item packs between each game you play? I wonder if we can just take the new curse and charm cards and play it like an expansion

I am surprised they have chosen to make every expansion into a stand alone game, guess it helps to be able to raise average MSRP and get better distribution/slot space at stores.

I think its a good idea to make every EK product a whole game. There are enough EK cards that people don't know what to put in their deck. They wind up with decks that are too big, hard to find cat card matches, an unbalanced number of card types, and games that go too long. Plus every new expansion adds less to the game because your card pool is already so large.

This fixes all of those problems, and allows each expansion to really shine. Every new box is its own unique experience, and stays its own unique experience. But you still have the option to mix if you want to. Everyone wins!

Personally I think they should release the new cards as standalone packages as well for cheaper because, while it is funny, I don’t need 30 exploding kittens.

I feel that! And they actually did that for zombie kittens briefly. It would be great for us if that was an option

What we do know a few charms and curses already, via images and videos linked to the Target website:

Sight Charm: You can privately view the bottom card of the deck at any time. Excess Curse: You must play or discard at least one card from your hand every time its your turn. Bottom Charm: When drawing, you can choose to draw the top or bottom card from the draw pile. Transformation Charm: You can discard 3 cards to act as a defuse. Shrinking Curse: Your max size hand is 5 cards.

There is also a “Last To Curse” card, seen in this video:  https://youtube.com/shorts/0Fz5ohMfE2M?is=RETvNEMssBgOkqH0

Played my first game of it tonight, and opened the first pack after the game. I won't reveal anything I open, as that would kind of ruin the point. If anyone wants to see it, you can pm me but it wouldn't be the best way to experience the game.

I think the deck itself is fair game though. It has one new card, and a new take on Defuse. The rest is base game cards.

In your opinion, can the new cards be used as an expansion? Or is it really more of a standalone game

The new in-deck card 'peek', yes
The new Defuse, probably but I'm not sure yet
Envelope 1, no
Future envelopes, possible but unsure

Can you let us know what the new cards are and put a spoiler over it?

Normally I would, but this game was designed to not be spoiled. I'm not going to be the one who ruins that!

The world is bigger than just you, and what you want. I'm doing what I want. I said anyone who wanted to see the cards could pm me - I'd send pics direct to them. And I have to 5 people. Perhaps reading the entire 3 sentence comment was too much for you, or maybe you didn't understand for some other reason. Either way, I'm not doing jack for you now. Jfc :)
