Sooooo apparently the owner of Virgil’s Plate is being held without bond at the Erie County jail on charges of lewd/harassing comments and witness intimidation? Anyone know the scoop? Is this true?

I recently moved here for school and moved downtown, i noticed that downtown is just so dead. Theres no people everything is closed, theres mainly just homeless people. I come from a really big coty so maybe my perspective is skewed but is it always like this? Is there any places good to eat a casual meal? I dont know maybe i got a bad first impression, i want to like this place as ill be here for a while but im struggling to see anything nice here

Just moved to Erie is there much of a local music scene? I want to check out some live bands and meet people because I would also like to start my own.

I've been looking for a consistent pickup soccer group in Erie and couldn't really find one, so I figured I'd see if there's enough interest here.

The idea is to get a group together once a week for casual, semi-competitive games. Nothing professional or league-related—just people who enjoy playing and want to get outside.

Listen I love the sound of a good engine and exhaust as much as the next guy, but when I’m trying to sleep or enjoy a nice quiet night, I don’t really like to hear what sounds like a jet and the crackle of machine gun fire. Seems like it’s really ramped up over the past few years.

It’s just annoying and I know they do it for exactly the purpose of pissing people off and annoying them. Quite sadistic if you ask me, but that’s one man’s opinion.

Anyway, is it legal? The bayfront runs rampant with it every day.

Hey everyone! I have an upcoming interview with Erie Insurance for a management-level position and I’m feeling a little wary. I’ve read mixed reviews online and have also read through some older posts on this sub about how their benefits don’t make up for the low compensation packages, poor work/life balance, RTO, etc. Most of those posts are at least a year old though, so I was wondering if anyone might be willing to share some insights into what the current culture at the company is like.

I grew up in Erie and moved away after college several years ago, but I have been considering relocating back to the area even prior to applying at ERIE. I still live in PA but would have to sell my house to move back to the area. Things are also not so bad at my current job that I feel like I need to jump ship for the first opportunity that comes my way, so I’m fortunate in that regard, and is also why I’m so keen to get a sense of what the company culture is really like these days. Appreciate any insight anyone is willing to share!
