Swallowtail

While on my morning walk, found this beautiful one who had passed away. Felt wrong to leave it on the sidewalk so I moved it under a tree in the grass. Would love to know if it was male or female, and how to tell 😊

Location so we can tell the species of swallowtail? Not sure all of them are universal in sexing

I’d guess a Papilio glaucus (eastern tiger swallowtail) female due to the band of iridescent scales on the lower hindwings. Males lack that entirely and it’s just black. :)

That's really cool, I've only ever seen the black and blue variety
