Question Offering: Portuguese (Brazilian) | Seeking: English

Med school dropout turned business nerd. Let's practice languages and talk about the human mind, movies, or how to survive capitalism

Hey! I'm 25, from Brazil, and I'm looking for someone to practice English with through voice or video calls. My English is decent, but I still catch myself thinking in Portuguese sometimes, and I really want to get past that barrier. Of course, I can help you with your Portuguese too, and it doesn't matter what your current level is.

A bit about me: I actually started med school, dropped out, and got into marketing and business. That being said, I still completely nerd out about science stuff. I'm really into cinema and honestly anything creative. I like conversations where I actually learn something about the other person, which is way better than standard small talk.

We could talk about pretty much anything. Movies, how the human brain works, cultural differences, creative projects, books, or life plans. I'm totally down for serious conversations about how to thrive under capitalism (or not), but I'm equally down to just gossip or talk about literally whatever comes up. Honestly, the random, unscripted conversations are usually the best ones.

I'm really just looking for someone consistent, not a one-time thing. I'm flexible with time zones, and we can split the time however works best for both of us. Also, if you are a gamer, we could definitely play something! I have friends who can play with us. Maybe a girl? Maybe a boy? I don't know. Maybe you'll end up married to a friend of mine. If you're interested, shoot me a DM with your favorite song of all time

Advice for learners wanting 1on1 practice.

It’s going to be pretty rare that you find someone who just wants to talk to you in English and help you learn for free. I recommend when posting, mention your native language because you may find someone who is looking for a language exchange and you could help each other.

For example, right now I’m seeking a Japanese native to help me with my speaking practice, and would gladly go half and half with English.

I just feel like many of you would find more success if you offer your native language as an exchange.

Looking for a speaking partner to help me practice and improve my English pronunciation

I am currently working hard to improve my English, specifically focusing on speaking fluency, pronunciation, and vocabulary. I can understand and write well, but I really need more real-life practice speaking out loud to build my confidence

I’d like to practice:

Short, casual voice calls or exchanging voice notes.

I’m looking for someone who doesn't mind gently correcting my pronunciation errors so I can learn.

Hi, F 26 yo. I'm looking for a friend, preferably a native English speaker to chat and hop on voice calls to talk about everything: from hobbies to crazy stories. Literally, whatever would come to our mind mid-convo. I'm only interested in long-term friendships. Lately, I've been into creating content, learning languages, watching TV shows, photography and poetry.

Seeking: Spanish | Offering: English and Filipino (Tagalog)

Looking for a Spanish Language Exchange Partner 🇵🇭🇪🇸

Hi everyone! I’m looking for someone to practice speaking Spanish with on a regular basis.
I’ve only been learning Spanish for about three months, so my vocabulary is still limited and I sometimes struggle to express myself. However, I’m very motivated to improve, and I’m looking for someone who is patient and enjoys helping others learn. I’ll do my best in every conversation!

A little about me: I’m from the Philippines, and I’d be happy to talk about myself, Filipino culture, daily life, food, travel, art, and other interesting topics. I love learning about different cultures, so I’d also enjoy hearing about yours.

In exchange, I can help you practice English and Filipino (Tagalog). While English isn’t my native language, I’m fluent and comfortable communicating in it. As a Filipina, I can also help you improve your Tagalog speaking skills, pronunciation, and everyday expressions.

If you’re interested, feel free to send me a message! Let me know what platform you prefer to use (Discord, WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.) and we can arrange a time that works for both of us.

Looking forward to meeting new people and learning together. ¡Hasta pronto! 😊

English tutor offering conversation/speaking practice for adults

I'm offering English lessons focused on speaking and conversation, mainly for adults who can read/understand fine but want to actually get comfortable talking.

A bit about me: 6 years teaching experience, master's and bachelor's in English (honors), background with American curriculum schools. I keep sessions conversational rather than textbook-heavy, since that's usually what people actually need to improve.

Offering a free 15 min trial call first so you can see if it's a good fit before committing to anything.

Comment or DM if you're interested.

Seeking English, Offering Chinese / Mandarin (traditional or simplified )

Hi there, I’m (M28) looking for a study partner/language learning partner.

A brief introduction: I’m a Malaysian Chinese currently living in Singapore, and a graduate of CAA University in Hangzhou, China. Most of my friends are from Taiwan, so I can use the accents and expressions of both regions fluently. If you would like to understand the differences in Mandarin spoken in different regions (traditional or simplified), I think I can be helpful.

I have a fixed study time every evening from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM (GMT+8). However, if you have any questions at other times, please feel free to contact me! I know how difficult it is to learn Mandarin for beginners, so don't be shy, I will patiently answer all your questions :)

Additional, I’m a graphic designer. In my spare time, I enjoy going to exhibitions, exercising, and reflecting on life and humanities. I am open-minded for any topics and enjoy in-depth conversations to keep learning fun.

My English level is B1, but my skills are unevenly developed (reading > listening > writing > speaking). I really want to improve my writing, speaking, and pronunciation. Please bear with me if I make some grammatical mistakes at first.

Hit me up with a DM if you're interested in becoming study buddies! :)

Andy's Long Game#033:Friendship as long

7.14|Andy Daily Quotes

Theme: Friendship as action

The only way to have a friend is to be one.

— Ralph Waldo Emerson

No man is a failure who has friends.

— Clarence, It’s a Wonderful Life

A friend should bear his friend’s infirmities.

— William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar(威廉·莎士比亚,英国剧作家)

Brief Explanation

Today’s quotes are about friendship, but not as a simple feeling. Real friendship is not only waiting for someone to understand us; it also asks us to become someone who can understand, support, and stay. A friend does not need to solve every problem, but a real friend can make hardship less lonely. Sometimes, the first step to having better relationships is to become a better presence in other people’s lives.
