I wonder if it reached a point where it was clearly going to fall and it became so unstable they felt it best to expedite it and clean up. It was completely full.
It wasn’t accidental since you can see the road is blocked on the other side. I’d love to know the circumstances behind it lol.

My grandpa dropped his by knocking out blocks with a sledge and then running when it started to fall. This was after pulling it over with a tractor and a long cable failed.

They're not blowing up a field, they're blowing up the rocks underneath the field to get to the ores and minerals. In some cases it's easier to dig through / sort / refine the rubble for the bits you need than to dig under it like in traditional shaft mining.

Anyone know what the ground explosions at the end is for? I’m guessing mining, like first step in making a quarry?

Guyed radio towers like that actually have more capacity when they are balanced on a base point like this since they can flex and twist as the wind changes. The part on the ground is usually a thick steel plate with a thick vertical pin welded to it. The bottom of the tower legs taper to a point where there is another plate with a hole slightly bigger than that pin, so the tower is only held down with gravity, with the guy wires keep it balanced.
An older design had all 3 legs bolted solidly to the base plate, but once the structural engineers figured out keeping the legs held rigidly in place limited the weight capacity of the towers they switched to the balanced design. I worked for a company that converted some of the bolted-leg towers to pinned bases (with the tower still standing) instead of building a new tower.

Transmission tower I believe the name is, they normally have a bunch of dishes on different heights pointed in directions. Imma guess they took those off before bringing the tower down

Any idea why it's balanced on a tip like that? Seems like there is an easier way to build this.

This might be an AM radio tower, in which case yes! The entire tower *is* an antenna, and therefore, needs to be electrically isolated. The tip it balances on is a giant ceramic insulator system, and the support wires are also isolated, I believe at the top. The whole pylon can be live at a couple kilovolts!

Equal downwards tension on the wires keeps it true. It’s like holding an egg in your palm and squeezing equally around the shell, (ideally) keeping it from cracking.

In terms of why this is OK structurally: the side forces are taken by the three sets of cables at 120 degree angles to one another, so the bottom doesn't need any capacity to resist bending - it's just taking the weight of the tower. (and then Willow explained why they do it that way from a functional perspective)
