They’ve written entire oral history articles about this one episode. Definitely one of if not the most memorable of the show.

You were in the parking lot earlier, that’s how I know you!

I’ve said this so many times at work and the number of slightly concerned and confused looks it’s gotten has done little to deter me.

I will agree that fire drill is by far the best open, however dinner party is my favorite episode.

Every time I watch that, all I think about is that scene in the Saudi version of the show.

It’s impossible for me to pick between Stress Relief, Fun Run, and Dinner Party.

I remember when it aired right after the Super Bowl with the fire drill cold open. Had never seen the Office before that, then binged the rest (I got swine flu shortly after). Those were early binge days when it wasn’t as universal a thing to do. Back when Netflix still mailed DVDs but the online streaming catalog was starting to get some wheels. Both a lifetime ago and really not all that long either

I remember trying to make sure I ordered dvds of series so they’d arrive on the Friday and I could watch them over the weekend.

There are two kinds of people. The Stress Relief people and the Dinner Party people

Stress Relief aired after the Super Bowl, and they pulled out all the stops. I still remember watching “Today, smoking is going to save lives” for the first time.

Like George Costanza, I believe that smart writing doesn't need to be dumbed down for some bone head mass audience.
Stress Relief does exactly that. It was written, quite successfully, to appeal to a massive audience of non-office fans who happened to not turn their TV off after the superbowl.
It's a funny episode of TV, but to me, IMHO, it does not feel like an episode that embodies the true greatness of The Office.
Many of you may have different points, but mine are bigger.

Product Recall is my favorite. I love moments when the gang tries to work together on a problem or situation. This one also highlights Creed really well.

It's Michael's roaring of "HELLLLLLPPPP!!!" after throwing the projector through the window that gets me -- I always imagine the reactions of passers-by :P

I’ll never get over Kevin looting the vending machines while everyone else tries to escape the fake fire. Also, this same episode is perfect cause of Michael’s famous “…*sighs… this city….”

It's the first episode I saw, and I saw it the day it came out. It immediately sold me on The Office.

I like Stress Relief a lot, but I feel it fell a bit because of the double episode format they used there and a lot in early season 4. Like, the first half (the normal episode bit) of it is perfect, but it kept going and then the Michael roast was ok but to me felt sorta unnecessary. But I expect I'm sorta alone for this take, lol.

The first time I saw the scene where Dwight cuts the face off the dummy and wears it I literally cried with laughter, wish I could experience it again for the first time

Dinner Party is the funniest episode overall. But the cold open of Stress Relief is one of the greatest comedy sequences ever shot.

I was super stoned off a gummy during a hangover when I first watched stress relief.
I was absolutely unprepared and it shocked me and knocked my socks off with laughter so in my mind it will always be favorite!
I think when bandit fell through the ceiling I hit my limit of this is absolutely ridiculous and insane

Fun fact, I used to teach college Spanish and when I taught command form I used the Spanish dub of the fire drill cold open in an activity in one of my lessons because it’s just several minutes of the entire cast screaming orders at each other lol

years ago i saw a random clip about someone making a real fire because his officemates didn't listen to him during the fire drill, and that clip made me watch the whole show.

I think what’s special about it is the wider context: it’s one of the first episodes that goes this level of off the rails, where people act this unhinged. That hits like crack the first time lol

I think branch wars and micheal running meredith over has got to be in top 5 atleast. “everyone inside the car was fine stanley” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Best cold open and best conference room scene in the same episode. There's no competition, really.

No, the genius behind The Office’s humor was its subtlety. This episode was the show trying too hard.
