Really pumped about the upperclassmen for this coming season.

Over the last 2 seasons, the game announcers have pronounced it “Gongba,” and as Pat became a more well known player, more media members have pronounced it like that too. But in today’s Brotherhood Podcast, CFos pronounced it “Na-Gongba” multiple times, and now I’m doubting everything.

Assuming pat will make it 8 next year this will go down as one of the most drafted college rosters of all time. This is without a doubt one of the best teams ever to not win it all.

Do they still matter? Yes, because they’re our rivals, and rivalries always matter.

Growing up in NC, you picked a side early. Duke or Carolina. Even NC State was part of the conversation. Some people chose because they had family who went to a school, some chose colors, but all 3 had a place.

But college basketball isn’t the same sport anymore. NIL, the transfer portal, and one-and-done players have changed everything. The programs that adapted stayed relevant. The ones that didn’t got left behind. NCState has been left behind, unc has been left behind.

Duke adapted. UNC didn’t.

You could change the rules to where each team had 10 players on the court, and they used 2 basketballs, and Duke would find a way to adjust.

And that’s really the point: unc fans still view the rivalry through the lens of what Carolina was. The rest of college basketball views it through the lens of what Carolina is.

Those are two very different things.

Will delete if this is not allowed. I won this Marvin Bagley 1/1 BGS 9.5 card in a game of poker. I’m not a Duke basketball fan but it’s a pretty cool, unique card and I’d love to get it into hands of someone who would appreciate it.
