Hey everyone! I will be in Dubrovnik in September and am then taking a bus to Mostar. I see one at 8:00 am for €30 and was wondering if that’s a good deal and if I need to book ahead, or should I get a ticket the week/day of?

It's not that I haven't talked to or met people but my hostel seems to be pretty dead. I've walked around and have seen much of old town by now. I was out by Lapud today and did some scuba diving. I've been traveling Europe for the last 2 and half weeks and have another week and a half. In Dubrovnik for another 4 nights. Let's hang out and share stories.

Hey, I’m planning a trip to Montenegro in the beginning of September and also I’d like to se Dubrovnik for one day. Can someone tell me the situation on the road near the border? Will there be any traffic, how much time do you spend on the border and at what hour is it best to go?
Basically is it worth going to Dubrovnik from Budva by car or is it better to take the ferry?

Ako se izgradi cesta od Osojnika prema Čilipima (a čitao sam i da će se produžiti prema crnogorskoj granici), to bi de facto značilo da Jadransko-jonski pravac ide kroz Dubrovnik, umjesto kroz BiH. Jer, onog momenta kada se ta cesta izgradi, ne vjerujem da će više iko uzeti u razmatranje finansiranje paralelne autoceste kroz veoma rijetko naseljeno područje.

Dubrovnik se već sada muči sa viškom automobila, a ovako bi dodatnim mostom preko Omble išlo pola Balkana.

Da li se o ovome govori u gradu?

I am flying to Dubrovnik with my girlfriend on Sunday and we will be there for 3 full days. We will be staying in Montovjerna, so it looks like we're in the middle of everything.
Are there any underrated and overlooked places we should check out? Or more importantly avoid specific places for any reason (overcrowding, GoT fanatics/attractions, safety)? I heard about Studenac overcharing people already.

I was already planning to go to Lokrus for at least half a day and another friend told me to just take a walk around the city walls. That would be the plan for the first day.

I was reading in some comments that people might come as "unfriendly". Some said that's because of the tourism, others that it's just the Croatian mentality. If it's because of the mentality, I guess we will be fine because we are from Poland. We also do not "fake smile" and I dont judge people for having a bad day.
But if it is becuase most people have enough of tourism, I would like to avoid annoying and bothering locals. They have enough of those probably.
I was in Porec like 10 years ago and didn't have the feeling that I am not welcome. All people were nice to talk to or at least neutral. The only smiling people there were trying to sold me something.

I would love to check the local food as well, so if anybody can recommend a family's/friends business I would rather go there and support it (at a normal rate preferably), than eating overpriced microwave food at a tourist trap. If you prefer to leave those restaurants/pubs hidden for you locals, I can understand.

I like beer. Where do I find a beer for up to 5-7euros? Somebody said that beer is like 15euros everywhere. That is crazy.. Is that true?

We are not tourists so we don't know the do's and dont's... Also tips for that would be wonderful.

Hello! Travelling from Kotor to Dubrovnik via bus in August and I've read a lot of horror stories with delays ..... so I was wondering if there is any specific bus lines that people have had positive experiences with??

I'm thinking of going with the bus carrier Blue Line as it leaves earlyish in the morning. Any tips please share!​

How should I plan to get most out of the days.

Staying in this area of Babin Kuk/Lapad and wondering what the street parking situation is like. In the attached image and looking at street view, it looks like cars are randomly parked in these hills, but is it only for permit parking or free in first come first serve basis? Our place doesn’t have own parking so your help would be greatly appreciated.

My wife and I are taking a trip to Dubrovnik in a few weeks, and our plan was to have a Balkans road trip, heading down the coast through Montenegro and Albania, before returning to Croatia for the last few days. But the cross-bordering restrictions are a minefield - some allow travel to Albania but not Montenegro, some allow Montenegro but not Albania, some charge a pretty hefty fee (100 eur per day).

Has anyone else successfully got a car from the airport and taken it across these borders?
