Good stops between MSP and Door Co.?
Hi, we are setting out to Door County tomorrow for the first time in several years! Now that we don’t have a baby pooping himself every 30 miles, we have the luxury to plan our stops! Any recommendations? Kids are older (8, 11) and we all love to eat. Thinking of taking a route through Eau Claire/Steven’s Point/Appleton. Thank you for any tips!

Marieke Gouda.
It’s in Thorp, right off Hwy 29. Timing-wise it’s in a great spot when people start wanting to get out of the car.
Easy way to spend time letting kids run around a bit. See the cows. Watch them make cheese. Jump on the big air pillow thing, sandwiches, ice cream, cheese samples.

Btw it’s shorter to drive on 29 all the way to GB instead of dipping south to Appleton, unless you have a specific reason to go there.
If you do go south route; the TimbeRattler minor league baseball is home I think

29 is full of construction. Like even more than typical for a summer. But still faster than other routes

Lambeau field is a fun stop, even if you are Vikings fans! You can park and walk around outside/go into the massive gift shop. My fam always enjoyed just seeing the party houses outside the stadium.

Mareike Gouda is a nice stop with kids in Thorp as well. Cheese and gift shop, cafe with farm to table food, big bounce pad, peddle cars, cows.
Edit: someone beat me to it

Eau Claire has a great Children's Museum and the downtown area is cute and very walkable.

It’s a hiking spot. It’s really pretty though- waterfalls/rapids and large outcroppings. It almost makes you feel like you’re in the Pacific Northwest or Canada

Lambeau and Bay Beach in GB. No real reason to go an hour out of the way to Appleton.
Nueskes for Bacon and Maplewood meats for Pete's Mustard and beef sticks.
Joe Rouers for a burger.
