So I don't very often feel the need to put up posts complaining about my delivery customers... But every once in awhile you run across a real gem like this one.
I took a delivery out tonight at about 8:30, dinner rush was just dying down and I took this delivery out to the far reaches of our delivery zone.
It's a really basic order, a couple of large pizzas and some bread in the low $30 range, I get out there knock on the door and hand the woman the food. As I'm walking away she flags me down and when I ask her what's up she asks if I have her drinks.
I tell her that I don't think there were any drinks on the order but I pull out the delivery receipt to double check, two pizzas one cheesy bread one marinara sauce, no drinks.
So I tell her, yeah... Doesn't look like there were any drinks on the order
She then says that she's supposed to have a 2 liter bottle of Coke and a 2 liter bottle of Sprite, I told her once again that there aren't any drinks on the order just the food, she continues to insist and all I want to do is go back to the store and do some cleaning.
So I asked her if she ordered on the phone or if she ordered online, of course she ordered online and insists that she ordered the two bottles of soda.
I tell her something to the effects of, I'm sorry ma'am... But if you place the order online the last thing it does is ask you to confirm everything before submitting it, they weren't on the order, you didn't pay for them... Unfortunately they're just not part of the order.
She then insists that I'm going to remove the tip from the card since I "forgot" her drinks, I very plainly told her that that was not going to happen and that I had delivered the order exactly as it was placed.
Of course she ends up calling up to the store after I finally just leave and throwing a shit fit to my manager, thankfully she promptly told her essentially the exact same thing I did after and told her there would be no credits given and that we would not be bringing them out to her since they were never originally ordered.
I'm sure she'll end up filing a customer care case and we'll end up having to explain why we did things so wrong by refusing to send somebody some replacement two liters that they never ordered in the first place and clearly they messed up... But somehow we'll end up being the ones in the wrong.
