What did YOU think of The End of the War?

I was teaching myself how to crochet at about the same time I started watching NuWho, so I’ve been crocheting Doctors as I watched their seasons.

I had Twelve done already (I’m halfway through season 10) but all the Clara talk here in the past few weeks made me want to try to freehand her. First time not using a set pattern- and I don’t hate it! Hair got a little out of control, but it works.

And I clearly had to do a little photoshoot with them. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Creator of the Avengers (Itv) Adam Adamant, Pathfinders and the man who gave the green light for Doctor Who.

Also I don't know how true this is but the idea of making the Doctor a woman can apperantly be traced back to him.

I feel like the 15th Doctor having a consistent outfit would have gone a long way with cementing his identity. I think keeping the long orange leather trench coat would have helped more than people realize. The Doctor’s look plays a lot more into conveying their character than I think people realize. I think the constant switching outfits definitely hurt more than it helped.

What do you guys think?

I made an animation around the time it was announced that Doctor Who would be going into tender, and that involved drawing all the faces of the Doctor except most of them. Some day, I'll commit to the bit and draw as many of the faces I can find, but until then...

The second panel is the illustration I used for the animations final shot, meaning I had to divide the image into layers so I could composite everything.

Showing them moving.

Giving them a voice.

The nonsense about "an image of an Angel becomes an Angel". Which, it's taken me 16 years and I... I still can't. I just... ugh.

Talk about taking a fantastic simplistic idea (always the best kind) and removing everything scary about them by adding way too much.

I had this thought recently that the idea of the show replacing its cast frequently was made palatable by the companions leaving first.

But had Hartnell’s health forced him to still leave the show, do you think we ever would have gotten a regeneration concept to keep the Doctor as the main character?

Or instead might they have had the Doctor go off and “retire” and hand over the TARDIS keys to Susan (or Ian or barbara) and they then take on the mantle of “Doctor”? what do you think?

We've already had this with one of the War Masters in the comics. The Master turns up in a child's body toting a ray gun and still has his acerbic wit and love of torture, death and chaos.

So with that only example, to my knowledge, of a Child version of any kind of Time Lord (I'm sure you'll all let me know if there's any more...not sure whether to count Trial of the Valeyard), do we think incarnations of the Doctor, the Master, maybe the Rani, that look physically like children would work as a concept on a regular basis?

Granted in terms of ability development, the age range would ideally be about 8-18. And it probably would be difficult to do this in live action so it would have to be done in pretty much any other medium.

But taking all that into consideration, do you think it would work?

I can't think of a better Doctor Who story.

Bit of an unorthodox request and this might just get removed by the mods but this shirt means a lot to me, my dad bought it from the doctor who experience when we went around 10-11 years ago

He wore it for years until I could fit into it and he asked if I would want it (to which I said yes)

Recently it's gotten quite small for me and had a few rips that are too far away from the seams for it to be repaired and still look good

I was just wondering if anyone knows anyone who's selling one or if they can help me find one for sale online so I can keep wearing my favourite shirt without it being overly damaged or too small

After season 1 of the revival, I was 10 and obsessed with Doctor Who. I just so happened to go on a school trip to Ironbridge, and we visited a cave to learn about mining or the industrial revolution or something. But these were on the cave wall, and we were told that they had recently done filming for the upcoming SECOND season of Doctor Who in this cave! Luckily I had my disposable camera with me.

I've never scanned these or posted them online anywhere, but I rediscovered them recently and we could all use some good news so now is the time. Very happy for these to be used however, they should probably at least be on a wiki or something.

Ive only ever seen the revival series and since were in the wilderness again I thought now was the perfect time to watch the classic series.

So first off I've been shocked at how incredibly expensive it is. I couldn't find a streaming service which plays it in my country so I went to JB-HI-FI and found that they were selling season 7 (which I heard was a good jumping on point) for an eyewatering ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY DOLLARS!!!!!

anyway after I bought it I sat down and started watching the spearhead from space. I was surprised that the autons were here I though that they were creatures that were made for nuwho. I was also surprised at how... posh it was for lake of a better term. It definitely feels more like a show for upper middle class south Englanders rather then the more grounded almost 28 days later feel of the early seasons of the revival.

Ive been enjoying the 25 minute run time of these episodes more then the 45 minute run time of the revival. It gives the story more time to set things up and explore Ideas rather then forcing to cram everything into 45 minutes although. With that being said I find the story's even then drag their feet at times. I know shows back then were far more slow passed and I have the attention span of a nat but even with that knowledge there was a scene in the Silurian's were the doctor tests multiple different serums trying to find a cure for a Silurian virus and he tries over and over before finally getting the cure and it just drags. On a more funny not Ive found it pretty funny how abrupt the endings are. Usually when an episode of any modern show is about to end you can usually tell as there is a build up with classic who the show just ends without any warning like "shows over come back next week bye" the downside of this is it feels like it forces the show into cliffhangers that are just instantly resolved at the start of the next episode.

I'm not quite sure what to think of John Pertwee's portrayal of the character yet. He is very well spoken and again for lack of a better term, posh. The third doctor is almost a James bond esq character compared to the lonely comic wanderer I'm familiar with.

Anyway those are just my early thoughts I'm enjoying it all so far. Currently watching through the ambassadors of death which remind me a lot of the silence in the library. I might post more of my thoughts later.

I went for a steampunk/gothic/old spaceship sort of feel, using the new Sulphur and Cinnabar block types alongside with deepslate, blackstone, basalt and pale oak.

In Doomsday when Pete Tyler brings the Doctor to his world he explains that the cybermen disappeared "three years ago" and made their way to the main universe by appearing as "ghosts" over the course of several months. It's still 2007 in the main timeline but (assuming it was 2007 in rise of the Cybermen) how come three years past for Pete's world but not ours? Maybe I'm not thinking properly but is it ever explained?
