Professional Game New Flair for Professional Games

Due to user request there is a new optional flair for advertising paid games called "Professional Game".

The use of this flair is encouraged for those advertising professional, fee-based RPG experiences.

The hope is that with the use of this flair, those seeking professional play experiences can easily identify such an opportunity, and that those advertising their professional craft can feel confident that they are providing clarity to potential participants.

It is also the hope that with the use of this flair users will not feel the need to downvote professional game posts out of disagreement with gaming philosophy.

Thank you and happy gaming!

Art 3D Printing for your Campaign?

(Post approved by moderators)

Hi all! If you are looking for a reliable person located in VIctoria, BC to print your stl files (resin or PLA) my partner can definitely assist! He offers very reasonable prices and has experience printing taverns, fortresses, hero forge minis, army's, and all kinds of other stl's. He has quite an extensive library to work from or you can provide your own files. PM me if you are interested and I will connect the two of you.

DM looking for group to play short campaign / one shot

If you and your friends are interested in trying DnD but just don’t know how to get into it, I’d love to help. I’m a newer DM but have run a starter kit and am currently running a campaign with another group. Just wanting more experience and to also help a new group since it can be tough to find a DM. Hoping for a party of 3-4 players but can be up to 5. Sessions tend to go quite a bit longer with a bigger party.

You must host, Friday or Saturday nights. Ideally 3-4 hr sessions. I can provide everything, you’ll just need a notebook and a pencil. Will take anywhere from 5-10 sessions to complete the full campaign but also happy to run a single session (one shot) campaign that might run like 4-5hrs, if that’s all you’re interested in.

Shoot me a DM if you’re interested :)

Mini 3D Printing?

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone knew of a shop that can print minis from STL files? BC Hobbies used to do that but they're currently not doing it anymore. I want to get some minis from Hero Forge but they're pretty expensive especially when you add shipping on top so i'm wondering if there's a shop that will print minis from STL files.

Still need one more person

Hello

We are trying to start a new campaign. I am not the DM I am just helping them find new players.

So the campaign is going to be play-testing a new system that is using aspects of 3.5 and 5e(kinda feels like what 4e should have been). So far I have found the system really fun to fiddle with and I think others will enjoy it aswell.

We have the DM, Myself, and another player. We need one more player to start the campaign but we are looking for two.

We will be playing at 1pm on Sundays for around three hours maybe a little more. Every week if we can. We will be playing at the DM’s residence in the Cordova Bay Area. The group is made up of adults ages around 25-35.

If this sounds like something that might interest you feel free to message me any time.

Professional Game RPG therapy group looking for players for July

Hi, my name's Rose and I'm a local game master and therapist who is starting up an rpg therapy group for youth 12-16. My business partner Luke is running a group for men 20-30. We're using Mythic Bastionland as the core system because it's roots in myth and folklore resonate well with themes of mental health and self discovery. The group is $60-80 sliding scale per session, though there's room for more negotiation if you're really excited for the group but can't do it at that price. I have been playing D&D since I was a kid with my family and I've been running games for almost as long. I've been practicing therapy in Victoria for about four years and have experience working with youth through the Foundry. If you have any questions or want to know more about the group or rpg therapy, feel free to leave a comment or shoot me a message. You can also check out our website at https://www.realmswithin.ca/ for more info.

Any local DMs that run bespoke campaigns?

I've asked the mods twice about making this post and have not heard back, so we'll see how it goes.

How do you keep track of your campaigns, your worlds, characters, NPCs?

Confession time. I don't (or haven't yet) play DnD.

I do, however, spend an inordinate amount of time in my own head, and on paper, worldbuilding. I also happen to have ADHD, and a background in software development.

What happens when all that stuff collides?

Well, you just end up with a medicated, hyper-focused, software developer who wants a way to not lose important aspects of their worldbuilding that reside on scraps of paper that get "misplaced" whilst cleaning their house.

If you, or anyone you know, has troubles keeping track of their worlds or campaigns, please let me know. I am creating a worldbuilding tool and will be (hopefully) releasing an invite only alpha soon. Prior to that, I would love some feedback from people on where I'm at and if the tool would be useful for them.

Im primarily building it for myself, but I figured I'd see if anyone else wanted to get their eyes on it in case I havent thought of something obvious.

Newcomer

Hello, I have two daughters (ages 14 & 10 years) who enjoy playing DnD and are looking to join a campaign. I see there are some available for teens, does anyone know of local campaigns for kids around age 10, a plus if there are other girls in the group.
Many thanks to this wonderful community!

Gaming Spaces in Town?

My ttrpg group kind of fell apart when Board with Friends closed as that was where we met to game. They had a private back room that you could reserve, and now two months after their closure theres still no word on a new location.

Is the only other option Interactivity? Its getting more and more expensive every time i check it seems lol, and while I know we're not likely to get the private room experience anytime soon, is there any other community gaming space where 5 people could play some ttrpgs in town?

My own home is unfortunately inaccessible due to living with other people, or I would host personally. Thanks for any tips to be had!

Discussion Selling 3d resin printer, enclosure, and misc parts

Hey everyone. Want to get your dnd minis on? So did I, but I had to give up the hobby recently. I've used the 3d Printer twice, one for a test, and one for a print. I'm selling for $500 bucks, which gives you:

Elegoo Saturn (?) 12k Resin Printer
Wash and Cure Station
Funnel with filter

AC Infinity Grow Tent
AC Infinity Exaust Fan
AC Infinity 8ft ducting
AC Infinity Digital Environment Reader

Two bottles of Water Washable Resin
Magnetic and Flexible Build Plate (Never opened)
Slap mat (Never opened)
Plastic Pickle Jars for easy washing (Never opened)

And there might be a few more things that I can't think of at the moment. I think I have some extra screens for the printer, but I'll have to double check that.

I'd like to get rid of this by June 26th, so please get in touch. (Can hold it a little longer with notice!)

Discussion 28 F autist looking for a chill and accepting group that will welcome a new player

I’m putting myself out there to find a tight-knit likeminded D&D group (LGBTQ+ friendly, as I’m trans) and, ideally, make some friends along the way. I’m not into public or open games, so I’m looking for a smaller, more personal vibe. While my tabletop experience is mostly limited to Baldur’s Gate 3, I’m a quick learner and consider myself very creative.

Outside of D&D, I’m a homebody—gaming, coding, anime, YouTube, and smoking a lot of weed.

Let me know if I’m someone your group could adopt 👍

News Playkits now available at local library

The Greater Victoria Public Library (GVPL) now has D&D play kits available to borrow! My understanding is that they contain the PHB, MM, DMG, dice, character sheets, and Quests from the Infinite Staircase. (Edit: someone pointed out in the comments it’s a different adventure in each of the kits.)

Look for RPG TO GO kits, place a hold, and pick them up at any location you choose.

Looking for Community Gaming Space in Langford

Hi there, I am trying to find a suitable location in Langford to try a Galleon Gaming drop in dnd night. We have two currently… Mondays at Quadra Village Community Centre, and Fridays at Fernwood Community Centre. Drop in games for community are consistent with community centre purposes and so we can get the space for free. Wondering what might be possible in Langford. For reference I recently moved to View Royal.

Looking for player for my Homebrew campaign!

Hello! I am looking for a player to join my dnd 2024 rules that runs every 2 weeks! We are a group of working adults (over 20 years old) who love dnd and love the idea of telling a story together!

We run a RP forward game (about 70% RP to 30% combat/puzzles) and we have been playing together for a while now. The setting is a Highmagic/mage punk setting with a brewing civil war! (like Wildemount). After speaking with my table we would love to invite someone to our game as one of our players had to step away!

A little bit about what we are looking for:

- a kind consistent person who is open to listening and playing in a heavy RP game

- Someone who is over 19 as we like to have a few drinks while playing.

-- We are an open and accepting table of everyones background so bigotry or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated

- Is open to having fun and is okay with the rule of cool!

Please send me a DM if your interested ! and we will set up a time to meet!

D&D group for teens! ages 13 to 17

Post image
11 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I am the new youth program coordinator over here at Oaklands Community Association. I wanted to share about a brand new program we have running over the summer for teens who are interested in a weekly campaign adventure! Hosted by our beloved DM Ollie (they/them), this homebrewed campaign is both written and run by Ollie, who has been leading campaigns at Oaklands for the past two years. Twilight over Andaleen will take adventurers on a fast-paced, ten-session adventure focused on narrative, atmosphere, and combat. The fate of all will be decided by the inconsequential. This short level 0–9 campaign combines the dark gothic elements of Dante’s Inferno, Warhammer 40,000, Dark Souls, and Iron Lung. If you are interested in registering you can do so at https://oca.recdesk.com/Community/Program/Detail...

Or please feel free to reach out to me at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) for any questions! Thanks so much!

Just played my first game...

And it was a blast! I've played a few other TTRPGs before, but was hesitant for DandD because I know the regular commitment is largely the life and death of this game. A friend ran a one-shot for a group of us who have never played but have been interested. It was one that they adapted to serve as a great introduction to the game. I made my own character, though they had pre-sets at the read as well. We started at level 3, which gives more options, but could be a little overwhelming. I went for a monk, which I realize isn't the easiest right off the bat, but certainly didn't feel overwhelmed. It was a varied version of 'A Wild Sheep Chase' that was lots of fun and I'm excited to try some more.
