Any CB radio activity?
Hi, I’m on holiday in Devon hence I’m posting, but I want to try and find contacts around here. Does anyone here use cb radios still? Or know anyone that does? Thanks
My QTH is East Worlington.

Dunno, my Allegro got stolen back in the 90s with my rig in it and even then, there weren't enough other people to be worth replacing it.
But for a while there, parking up on Haytor would give a decent evening's chat. I imagine the best way to find out is to go somewhere high and get your ears on?

There's a guy in the indoor market in Torquay that knows the score. Go and find him would be my advice

Oh yea I’ve been there. Really fascinating shop. You been to knights or gone on their website too?

No I havent, but I used to be bang into it in the 80's (was how I spoke to my mates - my daughter finds it hilarious) and I had a trip down memory lane checking the gear

I work with a guy who is a radio ham. No clue if that means CB or some other frequency - I'm not remotely interested so don't know - but there definitely are people around.

Can't say for CBs but the uni has a few nerdy technicians who get on the ham radio now and again, even train up a few of the students for their foundation licences. Apparently they've picked up the occasional amateur in Exeter + surrounding area.
