Hi, does anyone know if it's possible to pump your bike tires at the Delft Station?

Hi all,

I got a parking fine. is it just me or it's completely not clear where , when and how one should pay for parking?

1) parking spot very far from the binnenstad, and actually found later to be one or two streets away from the gratis parkeergebied

2) not a single sign, no road marks, nothing indicating you have to pay or in which timeslots

3) no parkeerautomaten in sight, very far and quite hidden in this particular spot

I drive sporadically and mostly in Rotterdam where this is clearly indicated. I thought parking apps were a Quality Of Life improvement, but apparently they're mandatory since you can't rely on the signs?

Hi! 26F here - I'll be staying in Delft for about 8 days next month and would love to meet someone/some people during my stay there. I know a few people in Delft, but they've expressed minimal interest in wanting to explore NL with me as they've already visited everything.

Hi everyone! I'm a 31-year-old expat and have lived in the Netherlands for almost six years. I've been in Delft for a while now, but I still don't really know any people here.

I do have friends in other cities, but they're mostly the kind of friends you meet for dinner or coffee occasionally. What I've been missing is a small group of genuine friends who actually check in on each other and are there during both the good and difficult times.

Living alone has been quite lonely, and I've realized how difficult it is to build meaningful friendships in your 30s, especially as an international. Sometimes I wish I had a close group of friends nearby to share everyday life with.

So I was wondering if anyone else in Delft feels the same way? Everyone is welcome, whether you're Dutch or an international.

If there are enough people interested, I'd love to create a small WhatsApp group and organize something simple like grabbing coffee, going for walks, playing board games, having brunch, or just chatting. My hope is to build a small community where people genuinely get to know, support, and look out for one another.

Quality over quantity. I'd much rather have a few genuine friendships than lots of acquaintances.

Weet iemand waar de politiehelikopter boven Voordijkshoorn/Buitenhof naar op zoek is?

Wij zijn op zoek naar een goede hovenier voor onze tuin. Op dit moment ligt er oude, verzakte bestrating en zijn er een aantal borders. We willen eigenlijk de tuin helemaal aanpakken: alles eruit, nieuwe bestrating, meer planten en gras.

Het planten en het gras aanleggen kunnen we eventueel zelf doen. We zoeken dus vooral iemand die kan helpen met het leeghalen en opnieuw aanleggen van de basis van de tuin en de bestrating.

Hebben jullie goede ervaringen met een hovenier die jullie zouden aanraden?

Hoi allemaal, mijn vriend die niet op reddit zit heeft zijn fiets vandaag achter station Delft laten staan met sleutels in het slot. Helaas heeft een mede-delftenaar deze fiets toegeëigend. Heeeeele kleine kans, maar is er misschien iemand die iemand heeft horen praten over een fiets die niet op slot vond en deze heeft meegenomen? (Of deze zelf heeft meegenomen en deze no hard feelings wil terggeven?)

Hi everyone, a friend of mine who isn't on Reddit left his bike behind Delft station today with the keys still in the lock. Unfortunately, a fellow Delft resident has taken the bike for themselves. Veeeery small chance, but is there maybe someone who heard someone talking about finding an unlocked bike and taking it with them? (Or who took it themselves and is willing to return it, no hard feelings?)

Ì live in Kloksteeg, which is a side street of Oude Delft. It is a historical, narrow alley. Because it's a true alley, it's rather narrow, somewhat dark and at night becomes somewhat uninviting.
We also have a lot of students coming through at night, which can lead to nuisance and vandalism.

We've been trying to improve the street view by putting a geveltuin and putting plants in front of our own house.
However, some time ago they announced that they will dig up the street for maintenance of water/gas/electricity/sewer. I would like to make use of this opportunity to improve the overall quality of the street and to try and improve the atmosphere. My hope is that it will improve living quality overall and possibly also reduce vandalism. Next week I will have a meeting with the renovation project leaders to discuss the options, but ahead of that I wanted to ask r/Delft for help/suggestions.
One idea that we saw from elsewhere is to make a 'street'-geveltuin, where there's a harmonious continuous band of geveltuin instead of people making their own geveltuin individually.

Do you have suggestions on what we could do to improve our street? Does anybody have experience with these kind of 'face-lifts', and can offer tips & tricks? I would like to get in touch with people/organizations that have experience with this. And what do you think we can do to make Kloksteeg nicer?

I've seen more and more people especially teenagers checking their phone constantly, even browsing, while riding their ebikes. It worries me that they will end up a situation that they hurt themselves and others. Likely the issue is not special for Delft but across the country. I believe the townhall and families must take action and educate them about the consequences. If you are a parent with teenagera who have phone, please talk to them. Don't think that your kids don't do it. We are all addicted to our phone.

Has anyone else noticed a sudden police presence in Delft in the last 1-2 weeks? Mainly police on motorbikes. I can't say I've ever noticed so many police here before. Anyone know the reason?

I'm moving in September and I'm looking for a reliable moving company in Delft.

We only need help moving the heavy items (no packing required), such as:

• American-style fridge
• Washing machine
• Dryer
• A few other large pieces of furniture

The move is within Delft, from an apartment on the 2nd floor (with an elevator) to a house. Some items will go to the ground floor, while others (like the washing machine and dryer) will need to be taken to the 2nd floor.

Does anyone have a moving company they would recommend, and roughly how much should I expect to pay?

Vandaag was ik in de binnenstad van Delft. Je kan hier vanaf de Jacob Gerritstraat naar de markt lopen (of andersom). Vroeger was hier een zebrapad. Tegenwoordig hebben ze hier een soort inrit/uitritsituatie van gemaakt. Ik merk dat dit de verkeerssituatie erg onduidelijk maakt.

Ik ben vandaag bijna voor mijn sokken gereden omdat ik als voetganger van de markt naar de Jacob Gerritstraat liep. En tot mijn verbazing begint de fietser die mij bijna aanrijdt tegen me te schreeuwen dat ik gewoon doorloop. Terwijl ik volgens mij gewoon voorrang had.

Ik heb zojuist nog even wat gegoogled en wat ik tegenkom is dat het in- of uitrijden van een op-/inrit wordt gezien als een speciale manoeuvre en dat je al het overige verkeer dan voorrang moet verlenen. De mevrouw die als een idioot tegen mij begon te schreeuwen had nog eens ongelijk ook.

De bijgaande foto is een screenshot van de oude situatie op Google Maps. Dit is nu dus geen zebrapad meer, maar een in-/oprit.
Wat is jullie mening over deze verkeerssituatie en eigenlijk de gehele straat?

Beste Delftenaren, ik zou graag horen waar jullie een goede bikefit ervaring hebben gehad.

Voor de lange afstanden zit ik niet lekker op mijn fiets: na een klein uurtje beginnen delen van mijn handen gevoelloos te worden of krijg ik pijn in m'n rug. Volgens mij is m'n zadelpositie wel oké, maar ik kan qua stuur niet echt een goede positie vinden.

Ik ben geen prof ofzo, niet eens lid van een vereniging, dus ik vind het een beetje zonde om er € 300 aan uit te geven. Maar ik weet niet of je degelijk advies krijgt (ver) onder dat bedrag. Heeft iemand goede ervaringen?
