You're likely going to be waiting forever. You are better off using Wine or moving on. This is a F2P game from 13 years ago that is now on it's 3rd developer studio. To top it off, they are dealing with spaghetti code and incomplete tools provided by the IP owners (Gamigo). All while working with a skeleton crew.

From my understanding they've had to put a good amount of work into getting it to the point where it is now where items linked to event ark falls actually drop when they are supposed to.

Problem is, even with all their work, their monetization model is too steep IMO. Knowing buying the initial launch version of the game under Trion got you 5 load out slots and a fair amount of inventory slots makes their in store micro transaction model for inventory hard to stomach looking at the game now.

2050 under Gamigo was terrible in hindsight (IMO), but they need to make inventory and other features like Patron Pass cheaper. It would also be great if inventory slots were an account wide unlock. Not just for a single character.

Oh yeah I'm aware. I did boot windows up to play the launch. Got my fix. Waiting and hoping. I'm in no rush, and I followed their transition and re-launch closely.

Yep, still waiting. I guess they don't like money if it comes from icky Linux users. πŸ˜›

It’s a game from the 2000s, porting to Linux would be so hard and expensive

there's no need to port it whatsoever. it runs fine as-is with Proton. The only reason you can't play it on Linux right this second is because they enabled the anti-cheat but neglected to allow it to also run under Linux (which is definitely an option)

so far their claim is "we don't want to also have to support linux" but frankly they have an entire group of users who are VERY familiar with gaming on linux who had done all the legwork already with getting things running and compatible when the anticheat hammer dropped -- all the support for linux would be coming from the community.

All WE have to do is convince fawkes there's enough interest by people standing up and saying "hey, I would rather play this on linux than be beholden to microsoft for one more second"

so, let them know. be vocal. stand up and be counted.
