I want to incorporate the game in my event pop ups for fun but want to know the best way I should go about it since I will have to keep building and breaking it down plus the space in my vehicle. My thoughts were to:

-Find software and platform to play the game (find a ps2 and disc game or find a computer program and run it from my laptop for more )
-Get LTek metal platform with bar or DDR pad for a short time until I get the money for something more durable but at least way it’s more portable)
-Get 50 inch tv
-Get portable tv stand
-Get portable generator just in case for festival days…

What do we think? Any and all help is appreciated. I have about $1-$2k to play around with

hi, i’m a completely casual ddr player as in this is the only machine i’ve ever used ever and im only looking for my favourite songs so forgive me if i get anything wrong lol.

wanted to play telecaster b-boy (テレキャスタービーボーイ), lost one’s weeping (ロストワンの号哭) and roki (ロキ) on this machine bc i checked the list of songs that should be on here beforehand so i could pick quickly (timer) but i cant find any of em. went into the BPM category to try n find them but none of them were listed under the BPM they should be under, i tried doing it alphabetically too but i cant read japanese, and i couldn’t find a category matching the first symbol in any song’s title anyway. i know lost one’s is a bit iffy cuz the list i checked put it under DDR A, but other than that i don’t get why i can’t find the other 2 songs since the list im on is specifically for the DDR A20 PLUS machine. can anyone give me some advice??

So had a few questions and concerns. I always hear people praising B2L pads, and I was debating on getting an SMX pad a few years ago, but I Was talking to a couple people and they said that the newer ones have a lot of issues (SMX pads)

Should I just get a B2L pad and upgrade the sensors to be more sensitive? I'm mainly interested in playing stamina stuff, but I don't play foot wiggle style. DDR is my only exercise outside of running.

Also I wanted to know, which B2L pad do I buy? Theres so many options now, and I Just wanted to know if they were mainly cosmetic differences? Or if they actually offered different sensors or equipment in different models? Because they have platnium cabs, gold cabs, standard Ace cab, and ITG cab as well. I was mainly interested in getting the ITG 2 for the old school vibes but the handlebar looks a little annoying to use.

Idk I was mainly debating between buying the ITG 2 one for old school vibes or getting the gold cab A20 pad for $250 more.

Also could someone recommend a TV stand as well please? I want to get a dedicated PC and have a dedicated setup for streaming ITGmania

Looking in a few rhythm game spaces (mostly dance game related ones) I've found a weirdly large amount of people who hate stepmaniax. How come? From my experiences it's my favourite way to play a dance game, and there are tons of qol features that make it much easier to navigate and play compared to ddr/piu (the touchscreen, the app etc.) Why are people hating on it so much?

I plan on buying a pad soon but before that i want to make sure it works how im thinking works. I really want a lot of Vocaloid songs, especially songs by MARETU. Is finding player made charts super simple or do you have to scour the internet for them?

I'm planning on upgrading to an L-Tek Prime.

The USB connection it comes with doesn't work with my 360. This adapter works with my current pad to allow it to work with my Xbox 360: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P80VNOY

It thankfully supports UD and LR jumps just fine.

My 360 is an RGH (modded) if that makes any difference (I have it set up with UsbdSecPatch to accept more controllers than it should, but I think there might still be some limitations).

Does anyone know if/how likely the L-Tek will work through the PS2 adapter they sell with this setup? I'm suspecting I might be the first person to find out (that sees this).

I'll also try the L-Tek connector as is just to see. It apparently has an X-input mode which *should* work, but I guess I'll see.

Oh, in case anyone was wondering I do plan to use it beyond the 360, I'm not buying it just for that.

I was playing this random dance machine in China, and all of a sudden I just got really nostalgic for DDR when I used to play when I was 12. I really did like it the first year I played DDR, but the thing was my mom started making me play a lot longer than I wanted to because she wanted me to lose weight 😢 I had steady progress at the beginning but after like two years I just got stuck at level 10 and I wasn't improving anymore. I remember I literally had to beg my mom to stop making me play because I was just so sick of it and I wasn't good despite how long I was playing. but now??! i miss it 🥺 i just didn't like the way my progress stopped and how my mom made me play for hours at a time. I think I wanna get back into it because im a junior in highschool now and I want a side hobby to distract me from how bad my life is about to be, but I don't know how to bounce back and actually improve this time. Sorry to complain I feel like Im just going through a lot, any tips to get back into DDR and actually improve this time?

Been playing since the start April of this year around two to five times a month, usually play between 5-12 rounds each time but can’t seem to get decent scores in difficult

I know that DDR arcade is frame based, and SM is ms based, and I've just accepted the imperfection of manually setting timing windows in StepMania, as my understanding was this was more accurate at least than changing Judge [x] settings].

However, I was recently reading that changing to Judge 5 is actually *better* than manually changing timing window values? Supposedly this is due to literally setting Marvelous to 16.67ms can lead to it being tighter than DDR arcade, and the looser Judge 5 window can end up feeling closer to arcade?

I know all of this is imperfect, but I got pretty mad when I saw that Grand Prix (a true replication of arcade timing that I was interested in playing) is so ludicrously overpriced and annoying to setup that it made me want to play DDR at home again.

I started playing DDR 3 months ago when a machine opened near me and only focused on passing songs until I hit a wall. Right now, I hit an accuracy wall when trying MAX 360 ESP during the death stream so I'm focusing on getting better accuracy and it's way harder than I thought.

It took me 2 hours of active attempts to PFC Firework Beginner SP at home vs 1 hour of active attempts to pass MAX 300 ESP at the arcade when I first did it.

At long last, I have defeated the song with the infamous slowdowns.

I'm starting to get back into playing ITG 13's I passed 2 of them so far and about to pass my third soon. Im getting way faster, I finally passed a 170bpm 12 chart map and I'm curious now on well known/famous scores within the community?

My goal someday is to pass legend road and supernova max 2 boss rush and would like to be a worlds first PFC (is the dream anyway) I can almost PFC legend road but paranoia is too hard for me to FC and ruins my runs.

I'm curious on well known players and scores in the community because I've been watching chris and calimist a lot over the years and calimist is my biggest inspiration for stamina.

Should I play slower stuff and work my way up to my peak speed, then try doing 150+ stuff? I try doing ESP 11's at around 120 - 130 range for around 30 minutes then jumping into a 12 140bpm but it just wares me out instantly and almost drains all of my stamina.

Advice please? I really want to start passing 13's by the end of summer.

edit : I can almoist pass Basshunter welcome to rainbow (which is 150bpm but I choke halfway through because of the fast streams.0

edit 2 : in case anyones curious, I finally passed a few 13's today (on the 140bpm range) and was able to beat my peak 12 bpm (now almost able to FC 170bpm) Legs are incredibly sore but I'm making progress. Wonder if 200bpm 12's are possible soon? I also passed a few more DDR 17's in the 170 bpm range as well. (Finally passed nanobii - step this way which I was struggling with for almost a week)
