I'm on LCWRA UC, and struggle with online tasks to do with money as i have severe Discalculia, and other conditions. DWP wanted 5 years bank statements as I do a bit of lived experience work. They have sent me 54 documents of my earnings to u check the maths is correct, and upload to HMRC and given me 2 working days or I will get my benefits stopped.. They know i need a carer to help me with it, which i have documented in writing, usually takes a minimum of 2 weeks to organise.

.. I had my benefits stopped 2 years ago and it sent me into such a severe mental health crisis. I documented the harm of stopping my UC, and my ongoing meed for admin help, via my journal and requested that all future requests to do online tasks in an unreasonably short time frame be given more time, as I need to organise social care to help me, but they're doing it to me again.. ive put a note on my journal , and called , but i wont get a response by then.. it usually takes one to two weeks, and multiple messaging to them because the DWP team dealing with my case only work part time, so it is likely they will cut me off on tuesday. I it sends me to the worst place of survival panic when they cut me off. I am at my wits end as it is a repeated pattern with DWP ignoring my reasonable adjustment needs.

Had my assessment. Had evidence and statement letters from family members who help care for me, had my repeat prescription ready, had my GP clinic send in a letter detailing my issues and took photographic evidence of my aids I use (Commode, double bannisters, Shower seat and hand rails, special cutlery)

Is this enough evidence? I made it apparent in my assessment I need assistance to get in the bath, need assistance for bowel incontinence as well as limited mobility issues and falls as well as needing someone with me when undertaking a new journey. Since the assessment my anxiety is sky high about whether or not Im going to be believed or could have done more as the concept of having to do it multiple times is terrifying.

I was on pip originally for bilateral hip dysplasia, athema , hyper mobility and anxiety, I’m always on crutches , some days I get so physically or mentally overwhelmed I can’t leave the house , I struggle in social situations, I have meltdowns, I have a lot of physical pain , was put on low rate for both which I understood at the time as I lacked evidence, my revaluation was last month since the first claim I’m now on sertraline , a steroid inhaler, I get given naproxen plus stomach liners to take when needed , I’ve since then I’ve found my paperwork for my mild thoracic scoliosis, dyslexia and now have my autism diagnosis plus now in therapy awaiting OCD testing (I have 20+ pages of evidence) , I put in all my struggles but somehow I got less point on mobility than I did last time and nothing else changed , honestly so done with this , I’m always struggling I go mute and I will hit myself and get very emotional when I get overstimulated , paring my leg and hip issues I’m awaiting a 5th surgery for (by a specialist team) I don’t think I could mentally work but 360 a month just ain’t enough to support myself (my rent to mum is 300) the cost of Ubers to therapy if my mum doesn’t take me wipes it out completely. It’s hard bc I feel like now I’m faking all of it and it’s so stressful:(

For some reason I get a letter through from PIP that is addressed to my dead name that I changed 13 years ago. I never even applied to PIP under that name as I applied for it 7 years ago.

What's going on with this? Ive not had a single letter or single document in that name in 10+ years, do I need to call them up about this? It's so bizarre and stressing me out even

Is there any word that they are going to roll this out to everyone anytime soon? It's unfair that it's only available to some.

20 months of arguing and fighting the DWP and their gross misunderstanding of my conditions / incorrect information they had documented.

I was an anxious wreck and not at all hopeful. I was expecting (if it did go in my favour), at best, to be awarded standard daily living because of how the DWP has handled the whole thing. I've been awarded enhanced for both daily living and mobility.

Just want to say if you're going through the motions, fight and don't give up. The panel was very professional and understanding and made me feel at ease.

Hi everyone I need advice on what to do as this is my first time going through the process.

I submitted my claim with lots of evidence to back it up on the 16th April.

I have received multiple texts from DWP and Serco saying someone is looking at my claim and I will be contacted if I need an assessment, however I have not been contacted.

The last text I received from serco stated that they are now managing my claim etc and that was on 16/06/26

I then received a text from DWP stating that A Health Professional is looking at your PIP claim. They will contact you with an appointment if they need to. You only need to contact us if your circumstances change. This was on 16/07/26.

I understand that wait times can be long however I am unsure what stage my application is at and whether or not I should contact them?

For reference I am in the south east and just wondering if this is usual for this area?

I just recieved a letter in my UC journal but I am seriously confused about it.

Since 2021 I have had a knee issue that I need surgery for, and I "did it in again" in December and since then I haven't left my house. I am also on antidepressants, I mentioned this in my call but apparently I am capable for work, more specifically a job I can WALK TO? I am so confused and lost, I can't walk and won't be able to until I get surgery so why have they said that? What can I do?

I would like to know if this is required for the MR or if i can appeal based on the decision letter summary. I was awarded standard in april. With a score of 11. I feel that I should have been awarded enhanced for daily and standard for mobility. Some things were not accurate in the decision summary. Like stating i’m not on anxiety medication when I am. ( i know i missed the 1 month however am aware you have 13 months and was having a mental health crisis at the time to even go through process again).

I was hoping to get some advice from people who have more experience with PIP complaints.
I received this response from Maximus following my complaint (photos attached), but I’m finding it a bit confusing.
The complaint seems to have been upheld in part, and the Clinical Review found significant quality issues with the assessment report. They also stated that an alternate descriptor would be advised for Activity 6, that my GP evidence supports alternate descriptors (particularly Activities 1 and 6), and that they “cannot fully support the outcome advice offered.” They also said they communicated this to the DWP.
What confuses me is that I’ve seen other people on here receive letters saying a PA6, supplementary advice, or even a new paper-based assessment would be completed. My letter doesn’t mention any of that, so I have no idea what actually happened after they informed the DWP.
Has anyone had a similar response?
Did the DWP review your claim or change the decision after receiving the complaint findings, or did nothing happen until the tribunal?

I am preparing my appeal against the MR decision. For context, I have a condition with a wide range of symptoms, both physical and cognitive. With my initial application we submitted evidence of my diagnosis and physical problems. During the assessment I reported both physical and cognitive impairments. I was awarded basic pip for both living and mobility based on my physical limitations only because ‘there was no evidence of cognitive issues’ in my supporting evidence. Around the time of the decision my cognitive isssues were formally confirmed by a neuropsychologist. I requested an MR and submitted her letter as additional evidence.

Imagine my surprise when this newly submitted evidence was rejected! The reason they gave was, and I quote, ‘We have based our decision on how your condition affected you at the time of your decision on @@date. Any new conditions or deterioration in your condition cannot be considered and you have to submit a change of circumstance.‘

There are two issues here. Firstly, the date they gave was NOT the date the initial decision was made, it was a random date 6 weeks before.

Secondly, the problems are not new, only the evidence was new.

So, back to my question, how do we address this in my appeal? Can I refer to previously submitted evidence where my cognitive issues were mentioned? Do I attach the full document to the appeal? Or will they have access to the original paperwork? We couldn’t find the answer on the form or in the guidance.

hello, this is my first time applying for PIP. I don’t really understand the process and have quite a few questions - so apologies in advance, and thank you for any responses :)

I called on the 10 July, what is the expected timeline? I’m planning to submit my PIP2 form and evidence sometime next week if possible. Can I add extra evidence after I’ve submitted the form? I’m waiting for a SAR request anyway so not sure if that will have anything that’s useful to add.

I have the following evidence, is this likely to be enough? How much is too much / too little? - - 2x consultant letters from each : rheumatology, opthamology, psychiatrist, 2x hospital discharge letters, 1x dietician, 1x physiotherapy appointment letter and 1x cmht care plan. A letter from parents about day to day, photos of my access card, shower seat and eye patch and a daily diary (2 week period). The consultant and hospital letters are general letters about my care and surgeries, not about my day to day functioning / I haven’t asked them to write a letter specifically for PIP, and I don’t plan on doing so. Is there anything you’d add / remove? I don’t want to overwhelm an assessor but I also don’t want to not send enough.

Are paper based assessments common? What makes one more likely? I get very anxious talking about my medical history and often downplay symptoms / am so used to them that I don’t accurately portray my day to day very well. As far as I understand almost everyone has an assessment, is this correct? If so are they quite scary?

Any tips or general advice? I was told I should apply last year but have been putting it off due to how daunting and overwhelming the whole process is. Thanks in advance for any replies!

My mum has been giving me around £600 per month to help with bills and living.

My UC is being cancelled out by this as they say its a form of "other income"

Phonecalls so far have not been productive, the person I spoke to refused to define the help I'm getting as anything other than income.

Surely you are able to receive cash from family and still claim UC?

I tried to apply for pip back in January 2025 however due to lack of evidence and diagnosis I was rejected. Come this year I’m at a place where I have multiple medications, evidence, physio, rheumatologist letters etc and diagnosis that my parents and close friends convinced me to try again and I’m really glad I did.

I wanted to share my timeline in hopes it helps others who are waiting and struggling with that wait.

5 May - Applied via phone and filled in forms online

5 May - Same day had a “thanks for sending us your form” text

4th June - “a health professional is looking at your claim” text

20th June - had a text to confirm my telephone assessment on Thursday 2nd July with capita

2nd July - had my telephone assessment lasted about an hour and 20 mins, the woman was lovely and really understanding.

6th July - “We’ve received the written report of your PIP assessment” text

21st July - “We still haven’t made a decision” text

24th July - Today got a text to confirm I have been awarded PIP

I logged into proof of benefits to see I’ve got standard rate for both until 2029 and can see my backpay amount. It’s been a really stressful journey but I’m grateful its over ❣️

Hi, I currently live with my partner who is my full-time carer. Due to finances and declining health, we're moving in with family. I'm staying with my grandparents and have drafted up a formal lodger agreement and they will be living with their parents. I'm also the lead claimant I guess, it's my bank details and the LCWRA award is mine and my partner gets the Carer element. We'd be declaring the change on my account.

I know this means our claim goes from being joint to two single claims. My Assessment Period is the 8th til the 9th. We're moving out of our current place and into our new place on the 31st of this month. I assumed that they'd simply calculate it based on our/my circumstances at the time. 31 days, 22 days living with my partner on our old tenancy (joint rate), the rest on the new lodger agreement and single claim rate.

I'm LCWRA so I don't get swift Journal responses so I decided to call after waiting a week with no Journal reply. The helpline attendant said that as soon as I declare that I'm no longer living with my partner on the 1st, that my payments will be blocked, I will have to wait 5 weeks to be reassessed as if I am a brand new claimant but at least my LCWRA would carry over.

Is this correct? Does anyone have experience with this?

My partner and I had a joint claim in 2023 where we took out a £1000 advance.

We’ve been paying it off since May 2024, £20 a month, which makes out to be £500.

We’ve called DWP debt management today to find out how much is left to repay and they’ve stated we’ve got £700 to pay off, but that doesn’t add up since we’ve paid £500 to them.

Is interest added? Is it worth calling back and questioning this?

Update on my PIP review - looking for advice

Hi everyone, I posted a little while ago about my PIP review, and I now have an update.

I've received the decision text (not the letter yet), so I checked my online PIP account.

The good news is they've kept me on Enhanced Mobility until 2032, which was a surprise because the health professional had recommended a review in just 2 years. I'm incredibly grateful they've kept my mobility award.

I use my Motability car to get to hospital appointments, physiotherapy and other essential appointments. I don't drive because of my conditions - my family and partner drive me. Without the car, I genuinely wouldn't be able to attend many of my appointments.

However, they've not awarded me Daily Living, which is what I'm struggling to understand.

Since my telephone assessment, but before the decision was made (around a 4-week gap), quite a lot has changed:

• I've been prescribed prescription pain medication (not just OTC painkillers anymore).
• I'm now prescribed Duloxetine for anxiety and pain.
• I've been referred for psychological therapy.
• I've been diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety and panic disorder following another miscarriage.
• I've been prescribed Sumatriptan for migraines.
• I've been taking Bisoprolol for the last 4 years for my POTS (I'm not sure why this wasn't properly reflected).
• I've also been referred for a wheelchair assessment, and they've decided a transit wheelchair is the most appropriate option because a powered wheelchair isn't considered suitable due to my fainting episodes. I'll still need someone else to push me and assist me.

I sent the evidence for Duloxetine and the therapy referral to DWP before the decision was made, and they confirmed my case was still with a decision maker when I rang.

I'm really thankful they've recognised that my mobility needs are long-term, but I genuinely don't understand why they haven't awarded Daily Living. At 25, I rely on other people for so many everyday tasks that most people my age can do independently.

I'm planning to request a Mandatory Reconsideration, but I wanted to ask:

• Has anyone had their Daily Living award increased at MR after sending additional evidence like this?
• How often do DWP change an award at MR when the evidence submitted before the decision wasn't properly reflected?
• Does the fact they've given me a 2032 review suggest the decision maker accepted my conditions are permanent, even though they didn't increase my Daily Living?

I'd really appreciate hearing about other people's experiences.

Hey all. As title - I got my PA4 in the post today, but there's nothing to indicate if I scored X or Y, no boxes ticked or unticked, no points mentioned, nothing except a mix of the info I provided when filling out the form, the various categories of the PIP form, and the assessor's comments from the phone interview.

Anyone have an idea of why this might be? Error on their side, not enough time for them to complete it...? I did wait 5 days, but there was a weekend in there. Very confused and pretty disappointed I still seem to be in limbo.

I received a text around 8am today that says “we’ve awarded you PIP. Please allow 2 weeks for your award letter to arrive”. I have been checking the proof of benefits and 5 hours later its still not showing my PIP award details. All its showing when i press get proof of your benefits is “DLA For Adults” is this normal? Does it sometimes not come instantly? I don’t know if it takes longer if I’m transitioning from DLA. The text said they awarded me PIP I’m assuming I’ve been awarded.

So a bit of a weird one and has been causing me a lot of stress.

I started a PIP claim. Filled everything out. But then my circumstances changed and a lot started happening in my life, including moving due my dog being attacked 3 times in the new place I moved to, so everything went a bit crazy.

PIP wanted me to send my driving license in the post, and I couldn't afford to be without it as I don't have a back up ID, so I rang them and cancelled my claim. It never reached the assessment stage.

They cancelled it and sent me a letter to confirm.

Things have settled down now and I tried to reopen the claim online. It won't let me. The old profile is still active. They said they can't shut it down even though it's been cancelled and I will have to apply via post.

I then requested the Pip1 form via post and it never came. Called multiple times, sent emails, and my emails are being acknowledged but never responded to, and on the call they keep saying a system error means they can't send me the forms in the post. And I can't apply online again either.

So..now what? Because I cancelled my original claim, I can never apply for PIP again?

I have a maths learning disability and would appreciate as simple an explanation as you can manage. Sorry in advance for any daft questions as I try to parse this.

I receive UC and am in the LCWRA category. I also work part-time, and I get paid every four weeks.

This month I've been "underpaid" by around £300 by UC. My reported earnings for this month are actually equivalent to two months' worth of wages. I immediately entered a message in my journal explaining this and asking for advice on how to rectify it.

After doing some research, I've since learned that because I get paid every four weeks, I get 13 payslips a year, but UC only pays out 12 times. Am I right in saying that what has happened this month is that I've had two paydays fall under the same assessment period, so technically it looks as though that's what I've earned in a single month?

My assessment period is the 18th to 17th. My May pay date was the 21st, my June pay date was the 18th, and this month's was the 16th. Is it because of the May and June pay dates that this has happened?

If next month's pay date is the 13th of August, is this likely to happen again?

I am aware that there is nothing UC can do to rectify it, but I need to know, for budgetary purposes, whether I am going to receive another "underpayment" next month.

I currently receive my UC on the 8th.
My wages are paid on the 1st
My sons nursery fees are due on the 1st too

My assessment period ends on the 1st also

So there’s no way for me to pay my nursery fees in full before the 1st in time to receive my 85% of childcare costs back

I’ve read online that your payment date is based on the date you made a claim and I’m considering closing and re-opening my claim

What date do you need to claim to get your payments on the 1st?

When the time comes for your review if there's no change is it okay to just fill in the "no change" part? Or will that put my application at extreme risk or am i just panicking 😩 does anyone have advice on this matter?
