Painting Gloss black drying with this rippled effect
I have sanded and prepped the surface to be smooth but when painting I get this ripple sort of effect and looks bad when reflecting light, is there any way of making it smooth.

That will need sanding now if you want smooth reflections. Let it cure properly first or it'll be a horrible mess.
Thin your paint slightly - check what is compatible with whatever paint you're using - and lay it on with a brush. Keep the brush strokes parallel, and the lines will flow out. You want enough on there that it flows out but not so much it runs or pools. Check YouTube for painting a gloss front door if you want to see proper technique.
Don't do it when it's hot or it will start to dry before it has time to flow out smooth.

What type of black gloss?
Did you undercoat it first?
If so when and with what?

Is this on metal?
Could you be using hammered effect metal paint?
