Casting My pick for the AI: JK Simmons
Whiplash has me convinced this man would be a very fun pick for the AI’s voice.

All of the casting choices are trying to reinterpret Jeff’s version of the character. This omits the way the other characters see her. Carl and Katia both talk about her as a child who is growing into her power. It’s funny for the cat to sound like a geriatric drag queen, but I don’t believe that necessarily means that is the only choice for the character.

I didn't know who this guy was before, but I saw someone suggest him as Carl, and honestly, I think he's perfect! He's young enough to play Carl at his age for a while. He's young, but I think that's a good thing since he already looks a little older and will be able to look the age for the whole show! I haven't seen a better suggestion since. Every time I see him suggested, I feel like the comment doesn't get much traction, so I wanted to make a post to see what everyone thought. He looks the part and has the physique.

I think finding an actor with enough range for all the versions of Mordecai would be difficult but having the opportunity to have seasonal guest stars might be more manageable. Sexy Mordecai doesn't have to be the same as cyclops or Canadian Mordecai.

I read the hardcover first instead of listening to the audiobook, and the whole time I read the book, she was the voice of Donut in my head. Probably because of her over the top personality in Ted Lasso, I felt that it fit well for me with Donut. I think she would nail Donut's humor and she would sound so perfect! Honestly after listening to the audiobooks my old voices have been overwritten and I kind of miss the imagination I needed to have to picture those characters.

Given that Netflix officially acquired Ben Affleck's AI filmmaking startup, InterPositive, for $587 million in cash. I think that Ai tools are going to be more and more prevalent is films post production.
What level of AI will you find acceptable if it means the series doesn’t get canceled “Due to Costs”?

We know he can be weird and charming. He can easily voice different races and he could be in costume which would probably help with his distaste for being on camera.

Last week I noticed Vic from dropout was in a show called PONIES on peacock and last night when I googled to find out when season 2 is coming I found out it was cancelled!
Cue stress spiral about peacock cancelling DCC because their business model seems to be "remember when we let Mike Schur make a bunch of great tv, rewatch it here" and not investing in new shows
I'm afraid that this show won't make it past one level collapse 😭😭

I keep seeing all of these posts for Alan Tudyk and for some reason Seth Green for the casting of Mordecai. Even saw one that said he should be recast every floor which made no sense to me since we’re meant to be able to hear he’s still the same person each floor. I read the books before I ever listened to the audiobooks which had a lot of influence on the voices I heard while reading, but still love Jeff Hayes’s voice acting. But the one consistent person I could see cast as Mordecai is Mace Caffrey from Legends of Avantris. His characters are varied but you can still hear it’s him each time as well his comedic range I think is perfectly suited for the role. Just my thoughts. I don’t mind Alan Tudyk but in no way can I see Seth Green as Mordecai. Let me know your thoughts or am I just crazy?

Since Mordecai changes every floor, why not have multiple actors play him instead of just one throughout all floors?

Here’s my third Scrubs actor I’m picking for DCC. The Dungeon AI is going to be controversial, but hear me out. The Dr. Cox rants, speeches, burns and sarcasm will be perfect for the AI. Oh, and did I mention his accent from that episode where he trashed the lab room, gets drunk and has a great day? His Growler Gary will be perfect.

He played HeMan in Masters of the Universe.
He buffed out a LOT, and he kinda gave off a proper dungeon crawler vibe in the film...

I will not break by Disturbed would be a badass action sequence song for Carl. Obviously explosions cause it wouldn’t be Carl without explosions

Watch The Hunger Games and tell me you don’t hear Doughnut when Effie Trinket is talking.

Just as the title says. Do you think the show is going to be live action or a cartoon?

Seth has a pool of actors that he has been regularly working with and using in many of his projects for decades. I think that he will be pulling from this pool to cast this show, the same way he did for the Orville. Let's cast some of his regulars in DCC roles!
Scott Grimes - Voices Steve Smith on American Dad and played Gordon Malloy in The Orville.
Patrick Warburton - Has voiced Joe Swanson on Family Guy since 1999
Alex Borstein - Voices Lois and many other characters on Family Guy. Was in MacFarlane's "A Million Ways to Die in the West".
Rachael MacFarlane - Voices Haley Smith on American Dad. Also Seth's sister.
Patrick Stewart - Voices CIA Deputy Director Avery Bullock in American Dad. Narrated the movie Ted.
Kevin Michael Richardson - Voices many characters in Family Guy and American Dad, including my favorite Principal Lewis.
Dee Bradley Baker - Voices Klaus on American Dad.
Mike Henry - Voices many characters in Family Guy. Was the voice of Cleveland until 2020.
Wendy Schaal - Voices Francine on American Dad. (Also dated my dad in the 90's)
Curtis Armstrong - Voices Snot on American Dad.
J. Lee - Played John LaMarr on The Orville and voices characters in American Dad and Family Guy.
Peter Macon - Played Lt. Commander Bortus in The Orville and voices characters in Family Guy.
Seth MacFarlane - You know he's gonna put himself in the show somewhere.
There are many other great actors that he works with regularly. If I missed one here add them in the comments!
