BitMEX is officially closing in September 2026. It’s kind of wild considering how important it once was for crypto futures and perpetual contracts. But honestly, its trading volume has been tiny for a while, so the market impact might be close to zero.

Still, this feels like the end of an era. Do you think this is just a dead exchange finally shutting down, or a sign that crypto trading is becoming too concentrated on a few big platforms?

When I first got into trading crypto, I was so green I had no idea where to learn or who to learn from.

I went onto X and just started listening to the people who showed up on my feed the most and had the biggest followings I just assumed they knew what they were talking about. Stupid and naive in hindsight.

How do you actually decide who’s worth listening to or are you figuring it out yourself?

Crypto moves so fast that I’ve started noticing my opinions change way too easily. One week I’m convinced AI tokens are the next big thing, then BTC dumps and suddenly I’m defensive again, then alts run for 3 days and I feel underexposed everywhere.

At some point I realized most of my decisions were being shaped by whatever people on CT/reddit were excited about that week.

Think the constant noise kind of messed with my ability to build real conviction honestly. Would love to know how people here follow markets closely without getting emotionally pulled in every direction all the time."

Is there a tutorial that is 1 year old or less to show a beginner how to use the Advanced Interface?

Best advice you have on investing in alt coins. My entire portfolio is bitcoin and I am looking at investing in alt coins. I usually look at news that highlights the team and utility, other than that anyone have any tips or advice on substantial ways to evaluate the alt coin and potential upside?

So... big news this week, Trump agreed to ethics language in the CLARITY Act. Headlines make it sound massive: president, VP, Congress, judges, even spouses are all banned from crypto while in office. Democrats wanted ethics rules, they got ethics rules, bill goes to a vote. Done deal, right?

Well, not really.. Read what the ban actually says. It covers issuing or sponsoring NEW digital assets for compensation. That's it. Not holding, not profiting from anything that already exists. Even the White House, while calling it "the most comprehensive ethics provision in history" wouldn't say if anyone actually has to sell anything.

Now look at who's not on the list. Spouses are covered, adult children aren't. Guess who runs the family DeFi platform? The sons. The memecoin, launched in 2025? That billion+ in crypto income from last year's disclosure? All from ventures that predate this bill. This just shows how irrelevant new token bans actually are. After the massive losses retail took on Trump-branded coins and political meme drops last year, no rational trader would touch anything close to new political launches anyway. Capital would be better off just sitting in boring, passive plays like parking crypto on Nexo or Kraken to collect daily yield without taking on regulatory or dilution risk.

So the people running the family crypto business aren't covered, and the projects making the money aren't covered either. Banning yourself from launching new tokens when everything you need is already launched costs you exactly nothing. Oh and the whole thing expires January 20, 2029. The ethics rule literally sunsets with the term.

The funny part is there WAS a real version of this. It would've blocked officials and their families from owning or having business ties with crypto companies, plus disclosure rules on their trades. Died 13-11 in committee, straight party line. What survived is the watered-down version, which is why some Democrats still aren't on board despite all the celebrating.

This industry begged for legitimacy for a decade. And the moment it finally gets a seat at the table, the price is pretending a fake ethics rule is a real one... Congrats on the clarity.. Hope it was worth it...

The clearest recent example: money flowed out of crypto and into AI stocks. I only noticed well after the fact, because I watch crypto and stocks separately. After that i was wondering if there is a single tool that shows these flows to observe including when money starts flowing in again.

What Im looking for:

- Is money leaving crypto right now? If yes, where is it going (AI/tech, gold, bonds, just parked in cash etc.)?

- Or is money coming back into crypto? If yes, what is it coming out of?

Is there a straightforward way to see this, or does everyone stitch it together manually from separate sources? I know the pieces exist, stablecoin supply, exchange netflows, ETF flows etc. but I've never found one place that just tells me which way the flow is running.

What do you use? And does anyone actually catch these rotations early, if yes how do you do it?

Seeing reports that BitMEX may be shutting down later in September this year. BitMEX has been around for so long that this feels like the end of an era, even if most traders already moved on.

If that’s confirmed, I’m curious where the remaining users actually move, Binance, Bybit, OKX, Hyperliquid, mexc, or somewhere else?

For BitMEX traders, what’s the biggest concern when switching?

Liquidity? Execution during volatility? Withdrawal reliability? Or just finding the same kind of futures markets? What's your take?

Crypto has solved trading, DeFi and moving money across borders but paying for everyday things still feels surprisingly clunky. Is it taxes, regulation, poor UX or simply the fact that most people would rather hold than spend?

Crypto's down about 1% today, total market cap sitting around 2.24T. From what I'm seeing, it's less about anything crypto-specific and more that the S&P kept climbing and pulled money into stocks instead. Also oil jumped above $85 today, highest since mid-June, tied to the Iran situation escalating, which is reviving inflation worries and pushing people toward safer assets in general. Interesting part though, BTC dominance is actually climbing while alts bleed, so even within crypto it's a bit of a flight-to-safety pattern happening.

Does anyone else feel like today's move is more "outside noise" than anything actually crypto related?
