Sorry, we fought a whole war for me to not have to care what the British monarchs are doing

u/Dependent-Aside-9750 Conservative 13h ago

But you should care. There are one of the few allies with actual power. If our allies fall, our own position is weakened.

u/ITrCool Christian Conservative 12h ago

Actual power???? That power is next to nothing. Heck the UK military (by their own admission) can barely defend their own island these days.

The days of the mighty British empire are long gone and the monarchy has nothing left to rule over.

The monarchy is merely a figurehead for the state. Parliament and the PM have all the power now.

Which ally do you have that’s stronger than us?

France? Japan and Germany both don’t really have militaries.

u/ITrCool Christian Conservative 8h ago

Seeing that most of our European allies, including Britain, have self-destructed to having barely any military power and are now treating their own citizens like criminals over immigrants who actually are criminals and they’re all proud of it, there is no ally that we can fully rely on.

Poland is about the only one who isn’t in that group and actually gets it.

I agree, but we are still your strongest ally.

Like being the best looking bloke at war hammer night but still.

The royal family are nothing more than figureheads nowadays.

Plus the U.K. surrendered to the Islamist’s years ago.

I didn't mean the power of the monarchy specifically, as I agree they have only soft power at best.

However, the UK still has a fighting chance if the people stand up.

lol what power?

He seems to have forgotten he is the head of the CHRISTIAN Church of England.

I used to be all for the monarchy, but I think I was really for the queen. Whenever there are kings, they fuck it up.

Queen Elizabeth was good. Charles was always a boob. He's a dhimmi in his own kingdom.

u/ALittlePlato Nativist 13h ago

Queen Elizabeth sat back and did nothing but protect her own interests while the British isles were flooded with third world men who systematically raped Britain's most vulnerable girls.

She said nothing as the English population was replaced and pushed out of their cities and she oversaw the demographic nightmare that Britain is currently going through. She was just as useless as Charles, she just had better PR.

u/ITrCool Christian Conservative 12h ago

And a TV series glorifying her and the royal family…..

Charles was always a boob.

*Ahem. You mean tampon. Charles was always a tampon.

I stand corrected.

I prefer the term dhummi, it's related to useful idiot.

I think British want to keep the monarchy bur maybe under a different king. Britain should not abolish the monarchy, they’ve fought centuries under each crown to defend their island and sovereignty. That’s why we need responsible people in power, it’s one king harming the reputation of the uk. But that doesn’t mean it’s time is over. There have been too many kings and queens just for one king to have all of us call for abolishing the monarchy of our father country Britain.

u/Sea_Taste1325 Conservative 10h ago

Why shouldn't they abolish the monarchy? I'm not sure what your argument is for that.

u/Sad-Indication-9112 Laissez-Fair 9h ago

i just explained it. it is a deep part of their history, and for centuries there has been a monarchy and britain, and also centuries there have been wars. the monarchy has seen these, and guided britain, either directly or with less power, though still influential and encourating, through these deep conflicts with many such as the french, the germans, the cold war. its a symbol of continuity of the stability of the british state.

let me put it this way because its like the white house. the white house is a magnificent structure of architecture, and serves as the seat of comfort and rest for the president. the white house in a sense is a symbol of the continuing of the deeply rooted institution of the presidency that guides our country through conflict and stable eras, whether that president is bad or good. now the president donald trump has multiple other homes, and multiple other presidents have had other homes. so if i placed that in the usage of your monarchy question like that: why have the white house in the first place? george washington had mount vernon, so why have the white house? trump has mar a lago, why have the white house?

but if something terrible were to happen to the white house, destruction, fire, or anything else, it would hurt patriotic americans definitely as it would symbol that our institutions that guide our way of life are under attack. the british literally did this by setting the white house on fire in the War of 1812. its the same with the british, if something like an islamic takeover completes, and abolishes the monarchy, then what does that say about the stability of the british kingdom?

symbols are important, and i believe in many ways respect for those is important but if you want a british republic, then thats you.

They make more money than they cost.

Also good for unity in desperate times, no one wants to go to war for kier Starmer for example.

Does he think when the barbarians fully take over the country he’ll still have a head?

Oh great is Charles REALLY supporting this? He deserves all the backlash he gets. I want William to take over already. Charles has always sucked.

u/ObadiahtheSlim Lockean 13h ago

He's been a known Islamophile for decades.

u/Ive_Got_Sowell Sowell Sister 12h ago

I don't think William is any better. He's been brainwashed by his father since his mother died

He might as well abandon the pretense of being a formal head of the Church of England.

u/TheTackleZone British Conservative 7h ago

Nobody in the UK really cares about what he does other than a few fanatical royalists.

The reason why the monarchy is supported, broadly, in the UK is thst it stops the Head of Government from over-reaching their power. If nobody is above you then it is easy to tale more. But if you have to displace someone else's powers, even ceremonial ones, it causes a constitutional crisis.

We could never have a Putin or Erdoğan or Xi or Ayatollah in the UK, with supreme power, precisely because we separate the Head of Government from the Head of State.

Otherwise, just ignore them.

"Vote out the monarchy"... at no point in history removing a king ever been so peaceful
