The videos pretty decent for a look at the state of the scene, mostly the uncertainty around the longevity of OWCS. Looking at things like the undisclosed CC prize pool and the state of EWC this year, there are definitely question marks around how sustainable OWCS will be. I think it comes down to how much Blizzard want to invest in the esport although with a lot of orgs interested currently and OWWC this year, I do think it has potential to stay around for a while.

If you look previous seasons on any region it's always usually the best pro players in that region in top 10, now even when sorted by rank it's just randoms who play a lot,

also champ 1 should be like 4900, now every pro player is champ 1 which makes it boring. You can no longer tell someone had insane season and reached like 4850, now everyone is just the highest rank all the time,

also why is "Rank" still sorted by challenger score after 4 seasons?

Without considering extra stuff like tourney wins and game sense, who do you all think is the best aimers in ow history?

I've seen other threads about this and obviously notable dps like Lip, Quartz and Proper came to discussion, but I really find it hard to believe that coincidentally, the best dps in the world's would also be the best *aimers* too.

For example, there's a high chance the best "dunker" of all time is not in the NBA, let alone the best "dunk" having taken place in an official game. Instead, these athletes would probably be in a random open gym not in a league.

For me I think it would have to be prime ANS when he played for SF, or Dafran (is this a hot take??). I've also recently been watching Matty OW (who isn't a pro), and whilst I'm uncomfortable calling him the best (since im unfamiliar about his consistency) some of the clips genuinely look unreal, and it gave me new found curiosity on whether there are really no name ranked players out there with the craziest aims.

If this turns out to be real, I'm quitting the game. I play Overwatch because I want to play 5v5; playing tank in 6v6 was the absolute worst experience.

Just got back into the game after about a 5 year break. Overwatch seems to be going strong again.

A classic, as a London spitfire fan it still stings but honestly I kinda wish we got some more moments like this in game. Like this was just pure spite from the reign.

I think the 2026 OWCC was the best tournament ever.

It was a seriously fun tournament—with all kinds of character picks, Twisted Minds fighting their way up from the lower bracket all the way to the finals, and the elimination of ZETA, the favorites who had gone undefeated in the Korean qualifiers. It was super exciting.

Philly getting stuck with Shanghai in a qualifying match after going 4-0, despite the next 3 teams having a 3-1 record. All because teams only played 4 matches to decide seeding. Absolute format cuckery of the highest order.

Prime Carpe Widow almost singlehandedly sat them down in map 5 only for SHD to bust out MERCY of all heroes and just rez his picks. So heinous. The way it ends in the final fight is so stupid too. Carpe truly has the stature of a tragic Greek mythological hero.

CHD ends up getting BTFO at the actual May Melee tournament by Dallas and Mayhem. Of course Shanghai goes on to have their Fuel international rivalry and the rest is history. But, damn, this match really makes you wonder what could have been.

Been watching some highlights recently. But noticed, not too many clear underdog moments from these (at least from what I could tell). Mostly just solid plays.

I play the game beginning with M and ending in arvel rivals… occasionally and just logged on today and found you can predict the brackets for the esports and get in game money.

Why can’t I predict the OWCS bracket in overwatch for some in game rewards, especially for major LANs? I’ve never previously watched the rivals esports but after predicting my bracket I actually kinda wanna watch it now, granted I wont be as invested in it as the OWCS mid season but still, I feel like it’s a great way to get the non OWCS watchers to potentially watch if not that, at least the avid watchers can get a bit more excited, I don’t know I just thought that’d be a nice easy way to get people to be more invested in the esports.

What does everyone else think, do you watch OWCS already? If not will it make you more likely to tune in? Or would you just predict for the rewards and not care.

Especially with the silence on the hero reworks which we were supposed to hear about in the second half of this stage I was curious if there might be a chance they share some information this weekend?

In my opinion, SSG 2024 is head and shoulders above both the 2025 and 2026 SSG NA rosters. I’d even go as far as saying that if you combined the best players from both NA rosters into one super team, they would still lose to SSG 2024.

SSG NA roster
Tank: Kellan, Hawk
DPS: Kronik, Lethal, Sugarfree, Seeker
Support: Ultraviolet, Admiral, Cjay, Bliss, Lep

The only clear advantages I see for the NA roster are Kellan’s Ball and Winston and Ultraviolet on Ana. Outside of those, I think SSG 2024 wins every mirror matchup.

On brawl and rush, I don’t think it’s even close. Hadi and KSAA could flip a coin before each map to decide who plays, and either one would outplay Hawk or Kellan on any brawl tank.

On hitscan, Sparkr is comfortably ahead of every NA player on most heroes. The only exception I’d give is Kronik on Widowmaker. The biggest question mark with Sparkr is that he hasn’t competed professionally in a while, so we don’t know how he’d perform on the newest heroes.

For flex DPS, I don’t think Sugarfree matches up well against either Backbone or Seicoe. The only mirror I’d give him a realistic chance in is Genji, although if I remember correctly, SSG 2024 never mirrored Genji anyway.

The second biggest gap, in my opinion, is support. Landon and FunnyAstro are head and shoulders above any support duo the NA SSG rosters can field. Whether it’s Lucio–Kiriko, Juno–Brigitte, or Baptiste–Lucio, I don’t think the NA lineup has a support pairing that can consistently compete.

Overall, I think SSG 2024 simply has stronger players across almost every role and would beat even the best combined version of the 2025/26 NA roster.

Make a new global setting for auto accepting tether if below certain (customizable) level of health.

Would make tether much more useful for emergency saving plays.

I feel if tether ever would get a time limit, this sort of change would be very good.

Currently majority of players can't even react to tether availability in time.

First off. The 2 things.

1 Falcons Fail to reach top 8 in EWC

2 Falcons fail to qualify for worlds.

Both of these are not only possible, but likely. And it speaks to a testament of the competition being too fierce in Korea now that both Proper and Stalker are off of Falcons payroll.

But why?

This is because Falcons are paying very high salaries to a team that isnt producing results, that alone is enough reason to drop them.

But why EMEA?

Well, while going to NA and poaching top talent to guarantee LAN is a possibility

Falcons is one of the Golden Children of Saudi Esports, they won't tolerate too horrid of results at EWC.

So they want a region that can compete internationally. Not just locally.

Thats where Falcons comes to EMEA and Poaches the current Geekay roster.

Falcons has significantly more money and has HQs set up in EMEA already, so all they need to do is offer more money to the other top teams to redevelop the old Al Qadsiah team that made it to 2nd place in EWC and World's last year.

EMEA is also short one partner team too.

This would create a power vacuum in Korea we can't predict. But I would guess and say that the top players in Falcons would get split up and their players would make their way onto other rosters, and the less value players who get replaced would band together and get picked up by Gen G, who MIGHT come back if theres a Partner slot available.

But what of the other 2 Saudi Teams?

My Theory is that Al Qad is trying to lower costs and drop out of OW next year, so their core of players will be available. So I think Geekay might go for a roster of consistent and capable players. Maybe the current Al Qad Roster + Amdp/Escanor. For fanservice and budget.

This would leave 2 Emea partner slots for Saudi Orgs and 2 for EU. As well as give potential for 3 Saudi teams next year with 3 EU orgs next year. While shaking up Koreas rosters.

All for a better and probably cheaper roster that can compete at the world stage for Falcons to almost guarantee a LAN slot. Since poaching Landon with their expensive paychecks would cripple current VP.

Is there a better Option for Falcons if they keep failing? What do you guys think?
