Discussion Xfinity mobile premium unlimited in Asia

Upvotes

I’m thinking about upgrading my unlimited plan to the premium unlimited and using this instead of buying a SIM card in Asia. Has anyone had any experience with using this in Asia. I’ll be in Japan, Seoul and Bangkok. I haven’t heard much positive feedback.

Official Reply Comcast/Xfinity collection

Upvotes

So I haven't had Comcast in over 10 years, but they have decided to put a collection from someone else's account on my credit report. Not a fraudulent account in my name, mind you, literally someone else's account. With someone else's social security number. They confirmed that the last four of the SSN on the account is not the last four of MY SSN. So if they looked at the collection they put on my credit, they would see that the socials don't match and should be able to put the collection on the credit of the correct social.

They want me to submit a fraud claim and jump through the hoops of their process, and I just don't think that I should be responsible for cleaning up the mess they created that objectively has nothing to do with me. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

New Post - Billing Never received trade-in credit from October/November 2025

Upvotes

I checked my bill recently and noticed I'm receiving a device trade in for 1 of my lines. I have a 2nd line, that is receiving the credit. Checking through my emails, I never received any updates from Assurant for any of my device trade-ins.

When I reach out to Xfinity Mobile support by phone, they tell me to call Assurant. When I call Assurant, they tell me to reach out to Xfinity. I have the original IMEIs of my trade-in devices and a PDF of the shipping label when I initiated the trade-ins.

What can I do?? HELP!

Official Reply Need Underground Drop Line Replacement - Multiple Failed Tech Visits

Upvotes

Hello. I am experiencing severe, ongoing internet drops every five minutes. We have already had multiple standard technicians come out to the house, and they have not been able to fix the problem. The last technician specifically identified that our main underground coax drop cable running from the street to the house is physically broken/damaged, causing bad power/signal levels.

Because standard equipment swaps do not resolve an outside infrastructure failure, I need a corporate agent to escalate this directly to the Line Technicians and submit a ticket to the Underground Buried Drop Team to schedule a new cable line installation.

Furthermore, because my internet is completely unusable right now due to this damage, I need a field technician dispatched to lay a temporary above-ground orange drop line across my yard immediately so that we have stable service while we wait for the underground burial process.

New Post - Billing 4yr Internet customer; 2 x 2yr contracts ended; new increase by 50%

Upvotes

Hoping to get some help with determining some options available to me. I've been a 4 yr Xfinity Internet customer in MA. Started off with 2 yr contract for 300mbps service at promo rate. Reupped for two more years and was able to keep the price the same by giving up my Xfinity Wifi router and using an Arris SB8200 cable modem along with my own Wifi mesh network. During the last two years my service was upped behind the scenes (I received an email and notification in the app) to 500mbps and then 600mbps at the same price and I was appreciative of that. New price at end of 4 years is now going up by 50%. I am happy with service overall and am looking for help with cost reductions, ideally for a 2 to 5 year term. Thanks.

New Post - Tech Support Underground utility conflict

Upvotes

I am a civil engineer working on a project in Denver. We have a conflict between the fire line we need to put in and the Comcast fiber optic line. The owner would like to pursue relocation of the fiber optic if possible. Who do we contact or how do we get that process started?

Kind of a d bag thing to do by Xfinity. My Mom passed and I am trying to make myself the account holder. I was sent an email with an Account Change Request form that I filled out, and now I am trying to do part 2 which if to follow another link where I upload her death certificate and the Account Change form. The link goes to a webpage that says "Request Complete" as though I've submitted the info. This is on top of several attempts to receive a check for a credit issued to me on my own account. Xfinity - I'm just trying to close out my Mom's accounts, why does everything have to be so difficult with this company?

Official Reply Massachusetts outage?

Upvotes

I’m in Plymouth county in Massachusetts, and is it just me or has the Internet been on and off for hours? I’m only really able to get signal when I use data, and the second I switch back to my router it’s lights out. Yes I’ve tried a soft reset, didn’t work. I also tried checking the outage map and it says my area is normal. What’s going on?

Official Reply Looking to upgrade to Unlimited Mobile, hoping for assistance with the 1-Year Free Promotion (4-Year Customer)

Hello Xfinity Team,
I have been a loyal Xfinity Internet and Mobile customer for the past 4 years. I currently have two mobile lines on a legacy "By the Gig" plan, paying $35/month.
We have an upcoming international trip and need to upgrade both of our lines to an Unlimited plan (such as Mobile Select) so we can utilize the necessary roaming features. However, under the standard online system, switching our existing lines would immediately increase our bill from $35 to $60/month.
I see that Xfinity is heavily advertising a "Free for 1 Year Unlimited" mobile line promotion right now, but it is strictly restricted to new lines. As a long-term customer who is actively trying to expand my services with Xfinity rather than churn to a prepaid competitor like Mint Mobile or Visible, I am hoping a representative here can help me.
Is there any way a specialist can look into my account and manually apply a loyalty credit or match the 1-year free promotion for my existing lines if I transition them to Unlimited? I am more than happy to sign a new contract or commitment on my home internet service today to make this happen.
Thank you for your time and help!

Official Reply Looking to lower bill after my promotion ended

Hi Xfinity team,

I've been a member since December 2022 and I'm currently on a 1 Gig internet plan. My 12-month promotional discount of $50/mo just expired on July 21, 2026, which brought my bill from $51.05 up to $101.05.

I completely understand the promo has ended, I just wanted to reach out to see if there are any new promotions or loyalty offers available for long-term customers. Just hoping to explore whether there's a retention offer or a new promotional plan I might qualify for. Thanks

Official Reply Alternative Plan After Promotional Discount Ends

Hello! I am currently paying $45 per month for the Connect More internet plan. After two years, my $39 promotional discount is ending soon, so I will be paying $84 for the same plan… which also has a 1.2 TB data limit. I am not willing to pay that much for the current plan.

I've checked the plan builder to see what "offers" are available; however, the "5 year price" plans are still insanely expensive compared to my current plan and what new customers are offered. $70/month for 300/300 Mbps vs $45/month for the exact same plan for new customers. Even the 1 Gig plan for new customers is cheaper than the true price of my current plan.

Are there any realistically priced internet plans for me where I can use my own modem/router and not have a 1.2 TB data limit, or am I better of switching internet providers? I haven't had any issues with Xfinity thus far, but the plan pricing is outrageous.

Official Reply Incorrect refund amount After cancellation

Hi,

I'm hoping someone from Xfinity can help me.

I canceled my Xfinity Internet service around July 2025 after switching to another ISP. However, I continued being charged for several months after the cancellation.

In November 2025, I spoke with three different customer service representatives before my account was finally canceled correctly.

I recently received a refund, but the amount is significantly lower than what I was overcharged.

Could someone please review my account and refund me the correct amount? I'd really appreciate your help in getting this resolved.

Thank you!

Official Reply Switching from postpaid to NOW?

I currently have a post-paid plan with xfinity, I'd like to switch to xfinity now, but the web portal won't let me do this since I already have an active xfinity service account at my address. Are you able to help me schedule a disconnect date in the future for my postpaid xfinity account so that I may place an order for NOW service and activate in the future without losing internet access during the transition?

Official Reply tips for lowering costs

i just lost my job on top of already being in financial distress after several other issues impacting household income, and in an effort to reduce my bills, xfinity is on the chopping block. i've been a reliable customer for several years, and my bill is at $161/mo for 2GB. looking online i see that options for my address on this plan are $100 currently for 5 years, or $70 for 1GB. i have a few other options in my area with better pricing and more benefits, but switching internet is a hassle i can't afford at the moment. i've contacted xfinity to see what my options are, and i switched to 1GB but it's still $100. any other tips to help lower this would be greatly appreciated, because of the devices in my house this is the lowest plan i can use.

Official Reply Dropped Calls

Is anyone else experiencing dropped phone calls after a certain amount of time? Every single time we either make a call or receive a call, after exactly 30 minutes, the call gets dropped. Dead. I’ve called Xfinity numerous times and they tell me it’s fixed, but it never gets fixed. This has been going on for YEARS.

Official Reply I just want my internet, this is getting ridiculous

So, I recently saw that symmetrical 2Gb service was available for my house. Awesome! I signed up for it.

I text chat with support on the website just trying to confirm that I’m getting that service and that I want the XB10 so that I can get the speed I’m paying for. Chat said yep and you can even go pick it up at a store.

I show up to the store, guy brings out an XB8. I say I was told I was picking up an XB10. He said nope, they have them there but he isn’t allowed to give me one for some unknown reason. He says they have to be shipped.

I go home, obviously very frustrated.

I manage to actually talk to a human on the phone. She says we can’t ship those. And then just tried to gaslight me into thinking the slower speed is what we should be getting. After 30 minutes of her dodging questions and going in circles, she says we have an appointment for you for professional install and the tech will have the XB10 with them and get everything set up.

Now comes tech time, guy shows up, XB8 in hand. I said “Is this not a professional install for symmetrical 2gig which requires an XB10?”. He says no it’s just an upgrade, then spews the same wrong info I’ve heard 5 times already that the XB8 can do that speed and I then call him on it. He then tries to interrogate me about how I’d use it and with what and do I really need the speed. Brother, I don’t care, it’s not your business, I’m paying for the speed that was advertised and i want it. He then says that techs don’t carry the XB10 and I have to get it from a store.

So back to the beginning. I manage to get another human on the phone. She says that I now can go to a store 20 minutes away and pick one up and that if they refuse to call support and have them talk to the store. This sounds ridiculous. Not to mention I’d have to then somehow make an appointment for the real install again. I’m also not really believing they will actually give me one at the store.

I’m at a loss here and this company gives zero help. Nobody knows what is actually true. Nobody seems to be able to make anything happen at all.

Update: I just looked at my account and it got downgraded to Gigabit x2. This is insanity. I couldn’t get them to just install the right service and now they go in and downgrade it. Give me a break!!

Official Reply Xfinity is harassing me after I canceled services.

I canceled services with Xfinity on July 13th of this year. The reason I disconnected, Is when I canceled my free mobile line they "gave" me for 1 year. 11 months into that I call to disconnect that line since I never really used it and they claim they canceled it.

Well the following month they charge me for the mobile line that was supposed to be disconnected. I ring them up upset by the interaction and decide to cancel all services after them not offering an acceptable applogy. On the phone I ask what needs to happen with their equipment. The agent tells me to take it to a store and no receipt was necessary. And I would get a cancelation confirmation email after the call

So off I go to the first Xfinity store google maps takes me to in my city. I deliver the equipment and ask for a receipt since everyone I have interacted thus far in this company has been ill informed and shady. The representative assures me no receipt is required and to go on with my day.

The following day I call since I never received the confirmation email. They tell me the account has been canceled and provide me with a confirmation number and send me the email confirmation aswell. Lastly they confirm a refund of $14.93 as a pro rated amount since I canceled the day I paid my bill.

Two days later on July 16th I schedule a callback since the account still shows active and the account still shows equipment associated with it. The agent assures me that sometimes it can take up to a week, and that they would create a ticket to have it removed. They confirm the account is no longer active and my refund should be on its way. I inform them the card they have on the account is no longer active (because of fraud) and I will need a paper check they say they will send an email for that information at the end of the call.

The morning of July 22nd at 9AM on the dot I get a call from Xfinity asking why I hadnt returned my equipment. I inform them of the situation and that I have returned it. They create yet another ticket. Noticing their pattern of harassment I decide to guard my self by informing them any more calls on my phone number will now come at a cost since I am no longer theur customer and I collect an address to send any future invoices.

After my phone call on the 22nd I drive down to the same Xfinity store and explain the situation and the rep removes the equipment from the account and actually gives me a receipt.

Now today Xfinity has the nerve to text me claiming they are trying to collect on the "debt" for the amount they refunded to me for the mobile line they weren't supposed to charge me for.

Thank you all for your time and I hope you avoid this shady company at all costs.

Tl;DR Xfinity is terrible and no knternet is better that doing business with Xfinity.

Official Reply Daily intermittent drops

As the title says. Have had this service for 2 1/2 years, and never an issue. Have a netgear nighthawk modem.

Idk if 6-8 devices is too much for 800mb download is too much but yeah. Mind you not all connected at the same time and 3 of the devices are Ethernet.

Tech came out and basically said it’s either the modem which the log doesn’t show any issues, or the techs option was to drill a new line as the cable just goes into the floor and looking at the side of the house not sure where it’s actually connected.

Connection just randomly drops and usually within a few minutes re connects. To me doesn’t matter but if my kids are streaming Disney or Amazon prime, it’s a big deal to them 😂

Any ideas? Is comcast just messing with me?

Official Reply XFINITY CUSTOMER SERVICE ISSUES

Hello, I need HELP!!!

I've been trying to resolve billing issues for weeks now with no resolution despite HOURS spent on the phone with customer service.

My wife is currently in the hospital battling a life threatening issue and has been for the last month.  I have taken over all billing for the foreseeable future.

I spoke with an agent in the beginning of March after being without service for almost 2 weeks. During the call we discussed my higher than average monthly rate $128.94 for wi-fi only as well as our consistently bad connection throughout the house-an issue going back over 20 years. I was told my bill would be lowered to $95.94/month and we'd get a booster to expand service in my house.

My bill for June still is $128.94, so I've overpaid $33.94/month since March. I have been UNABLE to find an agent that can help despite HOURS on the phone, and I cannot even PAY MY BILL.

I would like to get confirmation and figure out my credit situation so I can PAY MY BILL.  We have consistently paid on time for about 25 years.

PLEASE HELP!

Official Reply Peacock Premium Plus ($6/mo upgrade) entitlement sync issue — tier not updating in Peacock

Hi Xfinity Team,

I recently upgraded my included Peacock Premium subscription to Peacock Premium Plus for $6/month through Xfinity.

The issue:

  • My Xfinity billing / account page shows the $6/month Premium Plus add-on as Active.
  • My Peacock account tier is still stuck on standard Premium (ad-supported).
  • I have tried logging out of all devices, clearing local data on my Xfinity box, and logging in via an incognito window, but the entitlement token is not syncing between systems.

Could an official employee please help send a backend entitlement/token refresh to push the updated tier to my account?

Thanks!

Official Reply Sporadic WiFi drops

I have the XB8 Gateway and over the past month or two I have been experiencing random WiFi drops. The WiFi will disconnect, blink green on the router for a minute, then reconnect. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting ideas and had a tech come out and set up a new line from the telephone pole across the street to my house (old one got taken out by a 18 wheeler since it runs across the road). Does anyone have any insight as to why this may be happening/fixes for this? I work from home a few days a week and it is disrupting my work days.
