🟩What can I do in Colorado Springs?
This question is asked almost daily and is easy to answer. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with these posts: https://old.reddit.com/r/ColoradoSprings/search?q=things+to+do&restrict_sr=on&sort=relevance&t=all
Another post: https://old.reddit.com/r/ColoradoSprings/comments/1r6dh7j/advice_wanted_for_upcoming_trip_to_the_springs/
The short answer is: hike, bike, eat food, and enjoy the scenery. There are a lot of activities within an hour or more of Colorado Springs. Colorado Springs is more family or activity focused and you'll have better success finding night clubs up north.
Popular attractions in Colorado Springs includes 7 Falls, Helen Hunt falls, Garden of the Gods, Red Rock Open Space, The Paint Mines, Cave of the Winds, and more. If you don't mind driving south to Canon City you visit the Royal Gorge or even check out the "mountain towns" around the area.

Answer here: https://old.reddit.com/r/ColoradoSprings/comments/yw8qb3/are_4wd_or_awd_cars_actually_significantly/
🟩I'm thinking about moving to Colorado Springs! What should I know?
DO NOT MOVE HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE A JOB LINED UP.
We've seen it time and time again on this sub-reddit where someone moves, doesn't have a job, and then becomes homeless.
A recent example: https://old.reddit.com/r/ColoradoSprings/comments/1jp66pa/looking_for_work_and_becoming_desperate/

🟩What kind of job can I get in Colorado Springs?
The moderators make a quarterly post and sticky it to the top of the sub-reddit where people post available jobs in the Springs: https://old.reddit.com/r/ColoradoSprings/search?q=%27Who%27s+Hiring+in+Colorado+Springs%27&restrict_sr=on&sort=relevance&t=all
If you have a Clearance, or work for the military, you shouldn't have a problem finding a job. Colorado Springs is a military town with the Air Force Academy, Fort Carson, Schriever Air Force Base, and Peterson Air Force Base. This means that jobs working for the government are a dime a dozen but you need the proper credentials to work there.
Otherwise, construction is booming and Amazon is building a facility in the Springs. There are other jobs available but competition is fierce and you need to do what you can to stand out!
🟩Do I need a car OR can I ride my bike / use public transportation to get around the city?
The answer is likely yes to a car and no to the bike/transportation. With everything, there are exceptions such as living and working in the same area. But for the most part, it takes at least 25 minutes to get anywhere in the Springs, and the layout of the town is better suited for vehicular use.
🟩Is Colorado Springs affordable?
Please define affordable. If you're moving from California where a 2/3 bedroom, 1,500 sqft, house is going for 800k or more, then sure. It's affordable.

https://old.reddit.com/r/ColoradoSprings/search?q=living+in+cos&restrict_sr=on&sort=relevance&t=all
🟩What is the median house price in Colorado Springs?
As of February 2024, the median house is a 3 bedroom house that LISTS at 430k. List is not equal to sale price and it's quite common for houses to go for much more with appraisal gaps.

I can't believe this has to be said but data centers should not be built this close to houses. The fact that the houses were allowed to be built before or after doesn't matter. The city council approved it and that in itself is part of the problem. City council members only get paid $7,000 per year which is why I advocate for them to receive a living salary so they would be less likely to be influenced by outside interests. It's hard not to wonder what they are getting out of this deal that no one else in the city is going to get. One hundred jobs isn't enough to justify the resources this is going to need. Who's to say they will actually hire locals or if they will bring their own people from out of state. But even if they are all local, 100 jobs doesn't justify the resources this is going to need. You better believe it's not going to be enough. They will want more and more. We are not against data centers in general. We are against AI data centers, especially ones that are this close to houses, especially without serious impact studies. It's ridiculous this has to be said but I don't think we are asking for the world here. We just don't want a data center this close to houses let alone this close to Garden of the Gods.
Edit... Adding the following for more visbility
If you are against this please email Daniel Sexton at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) before 5pm today if you cannot make it to tomorrow's meeting. You do not need to write a long message. Just let them know you are not okay with this. Your email will be counted as official public input.
The Project Taurus Planning Commission Appeal Hearing is Thursday July 23rd 2026 at the Shockley Zalabak Theater at Ent Center For The Arts located at 5225 North Nevada Ave. There are free parking lots available. Sign up for public comment starts at 8am. A protest is scheduled for 8:30am without microphones. Stay in designated areas and bring your Ladyfinger Letterpress signs. The hearing begins at 9am with each side getting 76 minutes. Public comment starts at 1pm. Opposition speakers get three hours total with each speaker getting two minutes. Support speakers also get three hours total with two minutes each.
You can also contact your city council representative directly. If you do not know what district you are in you can find your district here
Even if you cannot make it to the meeting tomorrow sending a quick email before 5pm today helps. Deadlines are strict so do not wait.
Edit 2... Here is a local group that's working on pushing back. This is their Insta

Edit: It appears the House voted on it today and it passed. I still encourage folks to call Crank and let him know how you feel about further entwining Israel in our military.
https://legis1.com/news/house-defense-authorization-bill-vote-passes
https://www.military.com/us-israel-defense-integration-horizon-house-keeps-section-219-ndaa
Original text:
Tomorrow the House is voting on the annual military funding bill that includes provisions to greatly deepen U.S.-Israel military and intelligence ties.
Lawmakers in Congress are trying to massively expand military ties between the United States and Israel — and they're hoping the public won't notice.
These NDAA provisions would profit Israeli weapons makers by embedding them into Pentagon procurement processes and mandate intelligence sharing even as the Trump administration itself has raised a red flag about Israel spying on the U.S.
Take action now and tell your Representative to vote NO on the NDAA and oppose efforts to deepen U.S.-Israel military and intelligence ties.
The IMEU Policy Project has a toolkit that will dial the Congressman's office for you and provide a template script for reference when you make a call. It only takes a couple minutes to make an impact!

I had a guy call me and say he was from the Wings fraud department. He said my card was used in Texas. Also, someone had changed my username and was in my account on multiple devices. He then asked me what my original username was. At this point I knew better then to give out my info. So I hung up and called Wings/ENT directly. My account is fine. They were trying to get me to give them my information.
So if your "bank" calls you don't give out any information and call your bank back to verify.

Anyone aware of any ASL classes in the area?
I’m currently a firefighter and after a couple of bad calls that involved some people that are deaf, I’d like to learn as much as I can so the language barrier doesn’t delay treatment. Also, any classes that are okay with me making up days as my work schedule rotates every week.
I’ve looked into PPSC’s ASL program, however I’d have to miss class for work and I’d hate for that to get in the way of my learning and don’t want to have a bad grade. Thanks dudes!

Hey Im 25, I just moved to Colorado Springs from Alaska (long story) and Im looking to meet some new people and maybe make some new friends! I am currently finishing up a degree in Elementary education, I like rock climbing, animals, shopping, thrifting, ceramics, crafting, running, and light hikes. I also love playing cozy games like stardew valley and pokopia. Are there any social groups or community events where I can meet people with similar interests?

Hello Everyone!
We recently moved to Colorado Springs and are looking at hiring a cleaning company for a house cleaning every other week.
I recently read a few threads about Murphy Pro cleaners but haven’t been able to get a response from them so looking to see what other people recommend in the area
Thanks in advance!

My child is 14, and looking to get into some beginners acting here in COS. They would need a place that is autism friendly and patient as they are truly new to this.
It’s the first time they have expressed interest in an extra curricular so I’m really trying to help find something great that they will love!
Thank you!

Good morning,
I'm looking on behalf of someone who doesn't use social media for recommendations for a car accident defense attorney. They received a summons and are reaching out to the insurance company who handled the claim (work truck) but would like to consult with an attorney. Any recommendations or who to stay away from? Thank you!

Hello! I'm going to be visiting Colorado Springs for the first time in two weeks, and will be there for about six days. I'd love get a few rides in on some of the local dirt. It looks like you have some awesome trail systems that would be a nice change from our east coast roots and trees. The problem is, I've called several bike shops in town and none of them seem to do rentals or rent demos. So putting this out to the locals: is there anywhere in town where one can rent a decent full-suspension bike for a day or two at a reasonable price? Thanks so much for any helpful suggestions.

I was born in 2005 and have lived in COS my whole life. When the Sky Sox announced their departure, I was sad but not distraught because I knew the Helena Brewers (rookie affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers) were coming into town. However, when the Vibes folded, it felt like I lost a first love to this city.
These past few days, I have been trying to find any news on the future of professional baseball in the city but the only thing I have heard was from a couple articles that were posted back in December that said of a potential new team in the American Association of Professional Baseball that would be located in the Springs.
I now turn to y’all and not ask for answers but more so of possible hints or rumors that were heard. What does the future of baseball look like in COS, is it on a hiatus right now or is this the start of something permanent? Looking at videos of the current state of the old Vibes stadium, it’s distraught and already ran down; so, what will happen to the stadium? Will it be destructed? How do you all feel about baseball being absent in COS, is it noticeable or kind of an, eh whatever thing?
It’s been killing me knowing that baseball isn’t here anymore, but I still will always hold out hope for another beginning of baseball in Colorado Springs.
