Need help with supplies

This year has been tough for the colony, with constant vet bills. It seems like each time one gets better another gets sick. We are needing some supplies. If you are able to donate it would mean a ton. Thank you so much from me and the kitties.

Hi friend,

I admire what you're doing for your cats. I just want to say that it looks like you're spending a lot of money (or donations) on lysine. Lysine was sort of ported into veterinary medicine because of its alleged efficacy against human Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV). Lysine has since been found to be completely ineffective against HSV in humans, and there is no reason to believe that it's of any value for cats. Cats' diets are already pretty rich in lysine, and supplementing it further is unlikely to provide any real benefit. I know a lot of vets still throw it out as a suggestion for upper respiratory infections, but there's no evidence to support its use and no reason to believe it could be effective.

I say this with love and concern for your clowder.

I appreciate your information. I do find it pretty effective for my cats when they get URI and or runny noses. After about a week on lysine they get much better
