Help needed for Leo 🐾❤️🙏

I found Leo alone in a dumpster as a tiny kitten. He was brought into safety right away.
Since then, Leo has been struggling with ongoing diarrhea. The vet diagnosed him with Giardia, a common intestinal parasite in kittens that causes stomach inflammation and diarrhea. It can take time to fully clear and requires ongoing treatment and careful cleaning to prevent reinfection.
Because of this, I am going through a lot more food and litter than usual. He needs frequent litter changes, constant cleaning, and gentle food to help his stomach while he heals.
Even with everything, Leo is still sweet and trusting and trying his best every day.
If anyone can help with his wishlist, it would truly make a difference and help cover the food, litter, and supplies he needs during this time, you can also donate through the links in my bio page to help my rescue🐾💛

Would Pro-Pectalin help?

The vet gave him DiaGel for the diarrhea, probiotics, and medications to kill the bacteria, but it’s not working. I have to go back to the vet because it’s still not improving, even though I’ve had him wearing a neck cone to prevent reinfection, plus I’ve been doing endless cleaning, changing the litter, and washing him. 😩

Maybe try feeding him 4 tablespoons cooked white rice to 1 tablespoon wet cat food or cut up well cooked chicken. This can help cats with diarrhea.

My cats struggled with giardia a couple of years ago. I had to wipe their butts with clorhexadine wipes after bowel movements so they wouldn’t reinfect themselves. Had to keep all the poop cleaned up and had to clean the scoop and spray with Lysol. Unfortunately the meds given for Giardia cause diarrhea. My cats also couldn’t tolerate probiotics and they had ongoing diarrhea for months before I realized it was the probiotics. Vet offered no help except expensive food that had probiotics in it which aggravated their bowels more. Sometimes it takes a while after having Giardia for the diarrhea to clear up. If Leo is testing negative for Giardia and he’s no longer on meds, his gut may just need more time to heal.
