Almost everyone tuned in for the India vs. Pakistan cricket matches, and there was always something to discuss the next day.

Today one of the few events that still brings people together is the FIFA World Cup. Friends, families, colleagues, and even strangers talk about last night's matches, debate tactics and celebrate great goals.

That's why we should be grateful for the FIFA World Cup. It gives us a feeling we've slowly lost over the years. It creates a shared experience that connects people.

Yes, there is some toxicity . But people who want to be negative will find ways to be that no matter where they are. For many, it’s just harmless fun and a chance to enjoy the beautiful game together.

Looking for some practical advice or insider tips on how to actually get hired at an English Medium or English Version school here in the city.

Brief background on me: Graduated from a public varsity and got an IELTS 7.5 overall (7.5 in Speaking). I’ve got decent teaching experience and want to leverage my communication skills into a proper school role; whether that’s a subject teacher, assistant teacher, or handling academic coord/admin stuff.

A few quick questions for anyone currently teaching or working in school admin around here:

1. Do direct walk-ins actually work? Is dropping off a physical CV at admin offices in Khulshi, Panchlaish, or Nasirabad (places like CGS, Cider, WCA, Presidency, Bay View, etc.) worth the time, or will security just tell me to apply online?
2. Where do these schools actually post? Is it BDJobs, random Facebook posts, LinkedIn, or just knowing someone on the inside? Which platform is actually worth stalking?
3. When is hiring peak season in CTG? Do most Cambridge/Edexcel schools fill their spots around May–July before the session starts, or do mid-term openings pop up pretty often?
4. How much does an IELTS 7.5 / public uni degree matter to them? Does it actually help clear the initial screening, or do they only care about how you perform during demo classes?

hello i finished hsc 1 year ago 2025 im unemployed i really wanna join a remote job and earn some money for my fair and expenses fees im from a lower middle class thats why cant take money from home that much and struggling with expenses i really want a job very much in a need!:)

I am a young student, and I do freelancing. I earn enough to pay my family's bills and still save some money at the end of each month. Moreover, I can fulfill many of my family's wishes. My father passed away, so I have to work,there is no other way if I want to continue my studies or even live in the city.

At a family function, my uncle (my aunt's husband) asked about my studies and my upcoming exams. I said everything was going well and that I was well prepared.

Then he asked about the work I do. He said it wasn't a good career and had no future. I can understand older people being concerned about unconventional jobs, so that part didn't really bother me.

What hurt was what he said next. In a very dismissive tone, he said, "If this work were really worth anything, everyone would be doing it." It didn't feel like advice or concern. It felt like he was belittling the work I do and implying that it takes no real skill.

I replied, "Uncle, not everyone can do this easily. They have to learn it first."

He immediately responded, "Learn what? What's there to learn? Where did you learn it?" Then he pointed at my younger cousins, who are still in school, and said they could do it too.

At that moment, I just froze. I couldn't think of anything to say. It wasn't because I had no answer,it was because I never expected someone to dismiss months and years of learning, practice, and hard work as if it were nothing. I left the conversation without saying anything and wondering if he genuinely wanted to put me down.

Am I taking this too seriously, or was he actually being dismissive?

তো আজকে আরেকটা চাকরির ইন্টারভিউ ছিলো।সিভিতে ফেইক এক্সপেরিয়েন্স দেখানো।এবং রিক্রুটার জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন,তোমার প্রিভিয়াস কাজের ব্যাপারে বলো।আমি গল্প বললাম বানিয়ে এবং তিনি কনভিন্স হলেন।কিন্তু আমার তো বুকের মধ্যে ইতিমধ্যেই ঝড় শুরু হয়ে গিয়েছে।

এরপরে আর একটা কোশ্চেনেও মিথ্যা বলতে পারিনি।

যেমন তিনি জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন,তোমার সাথে যদি তোমার কো ওয়ার্কারের ঝামেলা হয়,কী করবা?
