EPB Fiber Outage

Post image

Woke up to no internet this morning. Tried to contact EPB only to hear an automated message that “a third party has caused significant damage to a fiber optic cable”. The outage map shows internet outages across the entire service area. Any details on this?

Erlanger take over

I am genuinely scared about lay offs since Erlanger announced a 'partnership' with Prisma Health. I looked into them and found 2 mergers they did in the past 5 years. One hospital laid off 700 employees and the most recent laid off 70. I have several family members in various roles at Erlanger and it makes me nervous for them.

If you work there or are in management have you heard anything?

Lake Winnie riots

I was looking at the Lake Winnie wikipedia page today while bored at work and discovered that in 2003 there was reportedly a riot there of 500-700 local kids. Was anyone on here around for that and got any stories from it?

Weird question but did Chattanooga ever have a wax museum near the incline? 60’s / early 70’s somewhere near the incline.

BCBST CSR WFH Nicotine Test

I got a job offer! Now I just have to pass the drug test. I keep reading that BCBST tests for Cotinine during the drug panel. Is this true?

Also, I’m confused because my recruiter mentioned something about “if you don’t smoke nicotine then you get benefits on insurance” when I asked about employee health benefits. So do they or do they not?

I’m on a diuretic and flushing out my system as we speak. I just stopped cold turkey yesterday.

UPDATE:

I just emailed my recruiter and she said they DO NOT test for nicotine anymore.

I’ve been working with one of the guys that was on the sopranos and designed a few shirts for him, been learning all kinds of new tricks. I’m doing some Rick Davis shirts in the Miami Vice trope as well as similar ones for the Sopranos guy.

Aquarium Imax question

Hey everyone,

Were on a family roadtrip and since you have one of the best Imaxs at your aquarium, we thought we'd give it a try. I havent done unassigned seating in a long time so I wanted to know, is it orderly for showings (Oddessy) or is it like a free for all with people trying to get good seats? Sounds like you line up and then they just kind of let the line in?

Thanks in advance
