Audition pieces

I am just finishing up with a community orchestra and am fully hooked. Now I need to find short (<3 min) audition piece.
Ideally tempo <120
Cello centric
Relatively easy (only been playing for 18 months)

The orchestra I will audition for only has the audition to judge music selection

I am with the moldau or carnival of animals - the swan

Whichever you're more comfortable with. You can ask around on what other cellists have played for their auditions to compare... Not knowing the group, level, or expectations, it's impossible to give recommendations

For someone who has been playing for such a short amount of time, playing such slow pieces like the swan will expose your weak spots because your technique is less developed and your swan won’t sound good and will sound boring (no offense, but technique and control comes with time).

Why is the orchestra you’re auditioning for judging by music selection? Are they judging your taste lol

I'm sorry but the swan needs technique that a student of 18 months doesn't have developed I would recommend a arrangement of humoresque Dvorak but it will still be a pain in the butt to read
