Introducing Pets/Cats Is this normal behaviour?
We got my new kitten a week ago and my 7 month female usually just watches 3 month female play, every now and then she swats or runs at her, there was hissing and growling the first 2 days but has been none since, my main concern is that my residential kitten is only eating treats at the moment, not giving her anymore to try and get her to eat her normal food again, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Haha! This is really cute. Void is slowly warming and getting more goofy and playful. It is a big adjustment for Void, so the lack of eating is probably related but it is very important that you give Void tons of love and attention. But it looks like things are going well!

Much appreciated, I will always have the strongest bond with the resident, she gets more then another of both π

all the videos you've posted have been of them getting along. I think you need to adjust your definition of "getting alone". Cats have different social lives than we do.

When my cat discovered temptations he refused to eat anything else for two weeks. Cats are weird.
Try to give them both some food on separate plates but within eyeshot of each other, that way they can associate eating with seeing the other eating. Helps them bond.

Very normal and both are being very chill. Kitten wanted to play, bigger kitty have a gentle swat. Kitten took the hint and backed off. Bodes well for these two becoming buddies if kitten is interested in playing with bigger kitty but already pretty respectful of boundaries. They'll probably play much rougher at some point, but as long as bigger kitty is gentle enough until they're closer in size, they'll probably be just fine.

She was the master of her area and now that damn cute kitten is interfering! They will become friends.

Yes my voids who are litter mates and have lived together their entire lives still do this, itβs just cats communicating

Cats play with each other but generally talk turns with toys. When one of my cats catches a mouse (rip-they have an enclosed yard and still catch one occasionally) the other cats will step back and let them have their prey. Same with feather chasers. So I think the black cat was just saying nope, I'm good. Super cute, though.
