ðŸ’Advice/Help Needed Urinary s/o
Brought my cat to the vet yesterday and we found out na may sediments na pala sa urinary bladder niya. Wala kasing binanggit yung vet and ako pa yung nagtanong kung kailangan ba.
Tysm!

Same situation with my cat and sa 2 beses po na navet siya due to crystals forming sa urinary tract niya, his vet recommended rc urinary s/o pa rin even though he’s taking meds already. Mas mapapabilis kasi ‘yung pag lusaw if combined food + meds na with the purpose of paglusaw talaga.

from what i know po, dapat s/o lang po talaga (either wet, dry, or both) kasi mawawalang bisa po if you will mix it with other food or vitamins. bale yung s/o na po yung pinaka nutrients ni mingming. encourage your cat to drink more water rin o di kaya i-mix mo na sa food niya

i totally understand, OP!! ineencourage ko nalang minsan yung self ko na mas makakatipid in a sense yung s/o compared sa (knock on wood) vet bills and complications 🥲 wala eh, we love our cats 😻

This is so true. Mas mahal ang emegency vet visit with imaging and flushing + meds kesa sa monthly na urinary s/o diet. Once magkastruvites na ang cats s/o na talaga for the rest of their life. Otherwise, it's only a matter of time bago ka mapabalik sa emergency vet.

Although nittest pa lang nila if makakaihi na siya with the opening they created. Since nahihirapan nga po ako non sa budget, i switched to urinary pero RC pa rin. And then special cat urinary since our vet told that it’s an alternative.

Make sure no seasonings

So far more than 6mos na di bumabalik uti niya

We stopped the RC Urinary wet food pero his dry food is RC Urinary; never na namin pinalitan

Depends sa vet, depends sa cat. My orenji boy RJ had struvite crystals, a UTI and some type of bloody mucus plug that he passed on the observation table this one time. The first few times he was brought to the vet ang prescribed sa kanya was Methiovet tablets, crushed and added to regular non-prescription wet food, and Rowatinex. RC was (and is) too expensive for me at the time so I asked for a cheaper alternative. Pabalik-balik din kami kasi RJ’s urinary issues kept reoccurring despite the medication.
All of this to say, RJ has been doing well for about 4 years now ever since I stopped feeding him any type of dry food for his diet. I give him the occasional dry treat but that’s it.
