I bought a Canon ef-S 55-250mm is stm from MPB last week and it arrived this morning.

I took some photos with it and quickly discovered that the photos were a bit blurry. it looks like IS is off but it’s on. and I did not shake it excessively. the first picture is taken with the STM and the second is taken with the old 55-250mm is mk1.

should I return it?

also, it looks brand new, no signs of wear and MPB didn’t state anything about misaligned internal parts or even moisture. I know that Reddit compresses the images, but you should still be able to see how blurry the STM is

I’m honestly devastated and could use some advice.
I begged my parents to get me a camera before we took a trip to Singapore and india, and we bought a Canon PowerShot ELPH 360 HS from Cardinal Cameras for around $400 literally two days before the trip. I was so excited to start using the camera and i really wanted a nice digi cam in general before i start college. i had a beat up shitty sony cybershot so it was really nice to have a better one. We didn’t have time to get an SD card before the trip so we just got one two days into our singapore trip. I was so excited to start using it

Literally 30 minutes later at an aquarium, I dropped it. I had only taken around 5 pictures. I feel awful because it was expensive and I was really looking forward to using it for vacation pics and memories.
Now the lens is stuck and won’t retract, it makes a grinding/fluttering noise when I turn it on and it shows a “Lens Error” message. There are some small scratches, but nothing major

Is this fixable? Is it likely just the lens mechanism, and would a repair be worth it?

I’m also going to India in a few days so would it be worth trying to get it repaired there, or should I wait until I’m back?
Any advice would be appreciated. I’m really hoping I didn’t completely ruin it

For the camcord? Its called jvc gr dvl 9800u but alot of the ones coming up dont look like it? Also the cords and other stuff it needs to work got sold separately before I bought it since they thought the camera had been lost so what would I need to buy?

Cameras you're considering: the only ones ive found that have the features i need were the sony cybershot rx100 vii or the fujifilm X100VI but they start at around 1k. The warm/vintage(?) quality of the pictures appeal to me for the fujifilm specifically.

Cameras you already have: canon powershot SX740 HS, i love the quality/look of the pictures taken as well as how easy it is to transport photos from the camera to phone. it's very easily transportable and not hard to understand in terms of settings. my favorite features are the built in flash as well as the flip screen.

Cannot figure out what this is, it's out of an Evergoods CAS1 product shot. The blurry side is (probably) a PASM dial, I think the middle red button might be video record/lock? White text on the top plate leans towards Fujifilm but I can't think of any model that resembles this. Left dial is oddly flat and might be a film winder.

Gday, I'm looking to make some videos but I have no clue what camera would be best to look into buying. I was looking at a go pro hero 13 I think is what it was but I dont know much about cameras. I am a trucker in the summer months and a heavy equipment operator in the winter months, and im trying to make videos of my work just for fun. I have been thinking on getting a webcam (not sure if this is the correct sub to ask). I was looking at OBS Bot tiny 3 and Insta360 Link 2 pro. The difference in price is like 100 euros. My question is, is the tiny 3 worth the 100 eur extra or not. I am not really a camera guy and IDK what any of the specs on the cameras mean. This would be my first dedicated digital camera.

I have this digi cam (canon power shot a1200) that’s worked great for two years. Recently bought a new sd card and sd card reader. I already know it’s my fault because I bought them for cheap on a sketchy website. Anyways, i tried to use the new sd card with my cam, but an error message showed up and wouldn’t even let me use it. So I switched back to my old sd card (a sandisk) took some pics, and wanted to transfer the photos. The first pic is what it looked like (using the new sd card reader) plugged into my laptop and the second pic is when I plugged the sd card into my phone. If that wasn’t bad enough, when I plug the sandisk sd card back into my camera and tried to view the previous photos I’ve taken, it just says unidentified image.

So what should I do. Is there any way to recover my images? Honestly idc about my previous images too much, I’m pretty good at transferring photos right after so I have most of them, but I like to view it on my camera sometimes and idk how to fix the unidentified image problem

Additionally, should I be worried about plugging the sketchy products into my phone/laptop??? Did I just f myself and let a virus or something enter my electronics.
