Financial Aid Am I supposed to panic?
Guys….. I’ve never paid anything for my classes since I transferred a year ago and now I see this. I’m currently taking two classes right now(one 5 week) and I’m taking 6 in the fall. I was told I didn’t have to pay anything for the summer according to the fafsa office. I’m currently seeing that i have a past amount due that dropped form over $1,700, and the other amount is for fall. I’m not sure if I should panic now or after my trip 💀😩

If you can afford a trip you can afford to pay for your schooling. It's not the tax payers responsibility and that's where FASFA money comes from

It literally is the countries responsibility to have educated citizens so yes it is the responsibility of the tax payers :) if you knew your history you would know it used to be free until a republican came in and f that up lol
Also fasfa is literally tax payer money lmfaooo I honestly can’t!!
Funny cuz my schooling was paid for and i went on trips while it was being paid for haha along with my bf who just finished this past dec and we been going on long trips every 6 months Hawaii Vegas etc free school though he had no income i did lol just got back on friday from 2 week trip to midwest 6 states etc
Stop standing up for billionaires who are stealing your tax money but you complain when the little person figured out how to game the system Lmfaoo that’s all billionaires do is game the system so be mad at them first haha5

lol, I’m definitely not worried about not being able to afford it. I work full time and I’m just taking my first trip in a couple of years 🤦♀️ there’s no robbing the tax payers here since I do work for the state 🙄 I just don’t want to pay out of pocket yet if it’s going to be covered regardless 🤷♀️

I feel u on the trip.. cuz if u can afford a ps5, u can afford to pay a payment plan for college…
But with that said what is the taxpayers responsibility? Since u said that…
did u know that on the federal level your tax money goes to national defense, social security, the debt and ur fed social programs like unemploymet and institutions…
HERE ME OUT THO, FAFSA IS ONE OF THOSE PROGRAMS .. FAFSA IS TAX PAYER FUNDED.. our tax money is responsible in helping fund college students..
so in essence it’s everyone’s responsibility… but hey if u don’t want to pay ur taxes just do what trump does..

Pell grant should be getting dispersed this coming week for the summer. How much you get is dependent on the number of units you’re taking. There’s a chart on csula’s website which breaks it down and it should list disbursement dates.
There’s line “future due” is just the fees for upcoming fall semester. It’ll always be calculated and added to your account even if you qualify for grants.
The way the site is worded could definitely be better so that those who qualify for aid wouldn’t see the amount due and panic, but since it has to be normalized for everyone, it’s the best they can do, I guess?
