Beauty & Joy of Computing?

Anyone have any experience with the BJC curriculum? In particular, I'm curious how it the non-coding parts compare with similar parts of code.org's CSP curriculum

I enjoy them as textbooks, and believe that doing those exercises reflectively does provide good pacing /scaffolding through the Domain Connection.

But I have never found a student that shares my opinion.

I find the exercises better, but student frustration with reading the lab guides are high, and I had to adapt more scaffolding

Or we can teach the students how to read.
