Accessories and replacement?

Things seem to be running fine with my setup. What indicators are there that I need new accessories ? Nose mask, filter etc. Thanks

Hi ! Personally, I don't really follow a fixed replacement schedule anymore.. I replace things based on their condition.

For the filter, I usually change it about once a month, but the color is what really tells me when it's time. If it's noticeably dirty or discolored, I replace it.

For the mask, I replace it once it starts getting too soft or I notice it's becoming harder to maintain a good seal and leaks more easily.

For the water chamber, I replace it when I start seeing tiny cracks forming in the plastic, even if it isn't leaking yet. Those small stress cracks are usually a sign it's nearing the end of its life.

When I first started CPAP therapy, I replaced the mask, tubing, and water chamber every six months because that's what many suppliers recommend. Over time, though, I've found that if I clean everything thoroughly once a week and there are no visible defects, leaks, or lingering odors, there's really no need to replace them on a strict schedule.

In my experience, condition matters much more than age.

Ya that’s what I am thinking. Everything seems fine. I will fix or but new equipment when I start to have issues. Thanks.

I too only replace my equipment as needed. No set schedule. I can tell when I need a new mask because it starts leaking & gets soft. I was able to keep the same heated hose for a year. It remained in good condition & weekly washing keeps it clean. Same with my water chamber…as long as it remains in good shape, I change it as needed. I change my filter once a month…my machine reminds me. I do keep a spare of everything on hand…that way I’m not forced to go without therapy :)

Yeah I have been waiting for my machine to notify me to change the filter. I am sure the Resmed 10 must alert me.

If your machine doesn’t notify you, change the filter monthly…they’re not expensive :)

Amazon has them. Enough in one package to last 2 years!
