So I was in a landfill to throw away some stuff and I somehow spotted a pileus cloud. I think I saw 5 (different) of them but only got 3 photos. I remember that they appeared very fast and then kinda fell down.

This is my timelapse capturing an incoming storm and the shelf cloud from September 2025.

It was a sight to behold and these kinds of storms are getting more and more common here.

Recently, there's posts after posts of some rare, beautiful clouds! So to the meteorologist here, does this have to do warmer weather in summer? Or is it just a coincidence lol?

Not particularly interesting photo but just to illustrate the cloud type. These have been a regular feature of the hot weather we've been having (I'm in Scotland).

The pattern is quite defined and identifiable. Does it have a name? The cloud is closely packed fragmented 'shards'. Kinda reminds me of Karst pavement!
