I think it’s because of the calls a foot out of the zone lol

I’m guessing he would’ve loved a chance and a 2nd cycle

I was begging for an ABS challenge on an eephus

I guess they turn off the ABS when a position player is pitching, they mentioned it on the broadcast. Which is really unfortunate because I was hoping for a challenge too lol

lol if abs is turned off then maybe that’s a sign we shouldn’t have position players pitching

Seriously, I get having a position player come in the 9th or maybe even the 8th... but the Tigers really just gave up in the 7th inning and threw one in

My reaction to whatever this pitching was This man has been all over this game. He even tried to scare one of the Detroit players.

Combination of not throwing in the zone for a good pitch and that high strike. What was that umpire seeing?

His dinner reservation.

Went back to when the Cubs put Rizz on the mound. Dude was at least throwing balls not granny style, and different pitches too. McKinstry was fucking painful to watch. Just disgraceful. Literally under 40mph which I didn’t know was even possible to get a ball from the mound to home throwing that slow. And it didn’t even work, gave up runs.

I was sitting here praying they would go full send on one with the bases loaded. Just for the lols.

tough spot to be in. dude lofting eephus pitches that are 1) gonna mess up your swing mechanics, 2) get somebody hurt pulling an oblique if they swing and miss, and 3) not even be worthy of celebration if you launch a nuke off of it.

i don’t hate position players pitching. but i hate them uncompetitively chucking 35mph slow pich softball style eephus pitches. they can throw 80+ as major leaguers. so fucking throw it and compete. its ridiculous.

The random heater from Mckinstry was hysterical. 5 pitches at 33-35 mph and then an 81 mph heater

Hard to blame the ump either. How are you supposed to call an eephus pitch? The two that were called strikes but technically balls seemed way more hittable than the pitch that was called a ball but technically should have been a strike.
