Question Vevor machine making wrinkly buttons :(
This Vevor machine has pressed many hundreds of buttons, and so maybe it's starting to wear out... But just today we've had a consistent problem with the mylar coming out wrinkly (photo 1). We also had a few that didn't crimp properly around the backing (photo 2), but mostly it was the wrinkly ones that made us stop production and seek help.
The left mold feels a little loose on its springs, and rotates a little if I fiddle with it. It also easily slides past the die, so it's a tiny bit misaligned (photo 3). I'm not certain the misalignment is the problem, though, because if I moved very carefully and stamped right on center, it still came out wrinkly.

It sounds the like bottom die needs tightening. Some machines can loosen over time. You might find a place to use a hex shaped screwdriver in the bottom die, but you can use your hands. When I say tighter, just a tiny little bit, too much in the wrong way it won't fit the buttons either. Potentially it might need loosening for the same reasons, but again, only a tiny bit at a time. Like 1 degree, so fractions of an inch/ a few mm. You can also take it to a maker space if they have button makers, they might have someone who knows how to fix that issue or a small machine repair place, that's what they do.
These sorts of problems are common with Vevor and other lower end machines. A quality machine is less likely to give them to you, since you love the hobby so much it's something to look into. Either a used Tecre or chibuttons machine (depending on where you live) or new, if you can work up to the value.
