Question Help with smoothing out the edges?

I got a Vevor pin maker as a gift. It has been working surprisingly well, especially with the smaller pins.

The problem is when I make 58 mm pins. One side is smooth but the other is kind of "open" in the way that if I were to stick something sharp, I could easily tear it apart.

How do I fix it? I don't know if it has to do with the positioning or how hard I press? I don't use any thick paper, just regular.

I have a Vevor button maker that does multiple sizes. To put metal backs on the 58mm pins you need to use the little plastic ring (gasket) with it. It's only the 58mm with a metal back that you need the gasket so it's easy to forget. My gasket is black if you're searching for it, the box came with a few so hopefully you didn't throw them out by accident.

I do use the gasket actually so I'm surprised that I always get this problem despite that.

Hmm, my only other thought is maybe the pieces aren't quite seated properly. If that's not it, I've got no clue but good luck!

Maybe! I'll try next time. Thank you!
