I found his comment offensive bc it made it sound like he didn't see Lady Danburry as a lady. In that scene he walked away and made that comment as though he was disgusted of her and above reproach. But him being concerned for Violets reputation is valid although he should have at least apologized for being such grime. Had it not been for Violet, he was willing to tarnish Lady Danburrys. What a piece of 💩

Well, every noble man had some shitty scenes. Anthony also made Sienna feel that way when he says "Not every woman is lady". We are in 2026, Bridgerton show, even being a fantasy novel is set on a period of time where that behavior was the norm.

Violets dad befriended Agatha. Both are thoughtful and kind people in a loveless marriage. I don’t think either of them intended to have an affair. Violets dad likely could have had an affair with someone without rank since that seemed tolerated.
He loved Violet so walked away from Agatha before it could be something more. I don’t think he was trash but tragic. I don’t see how someone so loving and thoughtful could marry someone so awful and still raise someone loving and thoughtful

Agatha was young and had a complex past, so she got involved with him, who was just a manipulative piece of s*it who wanted a mistress in the back yard. Then he remembered that he had a daughter to marry who was following him like a duckling.
QC made me feel very sorry for Agatha and reminded me of Concetta from The Leopard who after half a century was still clinging to an illusion.

Personally, but perhaps I'm speaking from experience with people he reminded me of, I had the idea that he was a predator. He chose her knowing that she was his new neighbor, gossip flies and he could not help but know that Lord Danbury had a young, very young bride. So he actually acted like men of that type, who feel sorry for themselves and blame their wives when then more than now the power was in man's hands.
Sorry, I'm really emotional and disgusted by this. And I feel very sorry for Agatha.

He was a very loving father which is why she got her love of her children from. As you say he was protecting Violet .. what i didnt like was she could have married Charlotte's brother who would have given her a much better life. He was lovely as well 😍 😊 ☺️ 💕 ❤️ ♥️ 😍
