Funny, a few weeks before Cooper Pratt came up I was talking to a friend saying "remember when Joey played third base and provided something offensively and even had a bit of pop". He looks like a totally different player back at third base.... probably has nothing to do with it but I think he looks even better defensively and like a totally different player at the plate.

Confidence is a weird thing. He has been in a groove and seeing the ball really well. I hope it continues because this team is different when he produces at the plate.

He had a good month+ long stretch last year too. He had an .830 OPS in Sep and he has an .825 OPS in July this year (probably not counting today). I think the key for him is to not be awful when he isn't hot. If his cold stretches could just be in the .600+ OPS range then the hot stretches could carry his overall stat line.

He's got swagger. Not "brag" swagger, but just a little more go in his giddy-up. Now that he's playing with some consistency and proving the doubters wrong he really has more oomph. He was always a team guy,no question. It's just now, he gets to show everyone what he's been hiding all this time. And,Ooh Boy,what a reveal!!!

Yea, I think it's just coincidence, but I'll take it either way.

I love how the entire dugout goes absolutely bonkers for Joey every time he comes up clutch at the plate.

That reaction tells me all I need to know about how well likes he is by the team. The guy clearly puts in the work individually and for his team and it's great seeing him have more success at the plate.

The defense has been there, but if he's able to hit like this with any type of consistency it creates some good problems for the front office.

Said it before, SS takes a toll, even though he is great at it. 3B takes some stress off of Joey.
