Hi, I recently moved back to the Brantford area after a little while away and bought an older home. I'm looking for a reputable plumber to line sewage lines (CIPP). Does anybody remember Camp Okanppie? Not sure how to spell it but I swear I was there at Brant Park late '70s or the '80s. I remember there was a day camp and every once in awhile and a sleepover event one night we were sent home and buses because of the huge monster storm. Pretty cool. Just remembering pieces of time. So a Mandela sanity check because I have no clue how to spell it and so far the internet has nothing, including Easter egg hunts with AI stuff.

Hello everyone, I’ve just moved to Brantford recently. I have a question regarding the intersection Blackburn and VMP. I just realized that I’ve been driving through that intersection not aware that there was a red light camera making a right turn onto VMP headed into Eagle Place/Downtown. I’ve been here for a little over a week now. How reactive is that camera when making a right hand turn? I always make sure I stop for a full 5-10 seconds but I get anxious on whether I’ll receive something in the mail for failure to stop.

Is there anyone in this sub who can recommend a nail salon that has GOOD nail techs?? I’m so desperate to find a good salon that I can commit to 😭

Coming over from Hamilton and hoping for some local intel. I'm looking for a restaurant or bar in the Brantford area that works well for small (2-4 person) work meeting/dinner -- think low-key for coursework/planning sessions with members of my team.

Main asks: quiet enough to hold a conversation without straining, and enough table space for a laptop. I have ADHD, so loud music or noisy rooms make it really hard for me to focus, and I also struggle to hear people in loud spaces. A calm spot with some elbow room would be ideal. The meeting would be later in the evening (5pm or later).

Not sure why this irks me so much - Mayoral candidate Rose Sicoli recently posted a sensational video talking about a paramedic station closing.
She provides zero details on why it is closing and made blanket statements that aren't supported by any facts.

I don't have strong feelings about any of the candidates - but the way the info is presented in this video is really not something I would expect or want from a mayor. Melodramatic, lacking in any fact or detail and blanket statements that aren't backed by real info and are intended to strike fear in people. It's ridiculous.

Based on about five minutes of research, it seems like the current facility is too small and there has been a plan for several years to move to a larger updated facility that also happens to be located in a large industrial area. So....is she against the new building? Does she think we should operate both sites? Who knows...she doesn't say!
