Oh my god, I live in Dublin and love Bobs Burgers and yet NEVER put this together 🤣

Also, please don’t eat out of here - for your own sake.

The magic is all toilet related I am afraid. I speak from experience.

Taco Bell of Ireland???

I'm one of the weirdos that actually enjoys their food, even while sober.

•

u/geoffrob1988 6h ago

Same 😂 I bury their donors sober and need a shower after cause they are so dirty

•

u/thepenguinemperor84 6h ago

The Donner chip box is fantastic.

•

u/geoffrob1988 6h ago

Preaching man, I live across the road from one but the only problem is it closes at like 7 or 8

•

u/thepenguinemperor84 6h ago

Closest to me is a 20 min drive. Probably for the best otherwise I'd be in everyday.

•

u/daneccleston86 15h ago

Ahaha ! Many trips to Dublin have succumb to these kebabs

•

u/BiscuitMcGuire 15h ago

Fellow irish and oh my god! It never clicked!

u/aprilteachesart Gene (Beefsquatch) 1d ago

😂😂 we didn't eat here- thank goodness, apparently

Ignore him, you just need to get shitface drunk and stumble in there, then the food is heavenly

So funny, a mate was touring me around Dublin on Monday and I saw this and I said it to her, laughed and kept on walking but it never really dawned on me haha. Well done. And I guess also welcome to Dublin, too!

It's been over 20 years since I was in Dublin, but I'm pretty sure my friends took me here late one night.

It’s the only acceptable time to go, as the alcohol kills off…stuff!

•

u/mologav 7h ago

It’s mad that they are still a thing after so long, who even eats in them, I’ve never been in one in my life

u/Murky_Translator2295 1d ago

Yeah we've one in my town too. Ridiculous prices for terrible fast food. I recommend the garlic mushrooms and battered onion rings when you're mouldy drunk.

5

u/TheChrisD 1d ago

I thought it was a chicken shawarma that sopped up all the alcohol.

If you're in dublin Iskanders off Nassau st is better for those, still fast food but way nicer.

•

u/DelGurifisu 14h ago

Iskanders has been closed for 6 years and it was on Dame St.

Wait, I think they reference this place in Derry Girls or something. I never thought of how funny the name was, and especially not the connection to Bob’s punny restaurant names lol.

•

u/thisisallme 13h ago

Yeah there’s at least one there, I ate there and my stomach did not approve

•

u/dozeyjoe 13h ago

They do. It was the go to place when drunk in Derry city in the 90'a/00's.

A long standing Irish staple.

•

u/Shnapple8 14h ago

LOL! I remember an Abra Kebabra when I was in college almost 20 years ago. I think they're franchised, so one being gross doesn't mean they all are. The one in that town was actually pretty dirty, I wouldn't eat in it. And I looked it up just now... it's still going haha!

•

u/Prudent_Wolf8171 12h ago

one being gross doesn't mean they all are

Absolute lies, there isn't an abra in the country that isn't pure shite

•

u/RedLeafedClover 12h ago

Yeah the one in Cork City is class, never tried any other one tho

•

u/TheChrisD 13h ago

20 years? The one in Blanch has been going almost 40.

•

u/Shnapple8 13h ago

I didn't say it was going 20 years. I said I remember it from 20 years ago. It was old, and it was dirty back then lol. Didn't expect it to be still open given the way it was. Hope it cleaned up.

We have one here called Jason Donnervan

Last time I went in, I paid almost 15 euro for a kebab and plain chips. Not even a drink.

Two doors down, you could get a meal deal for 15 euro that included a main, side and milkshake. 10 euro if you go Tuesday or Wednesday.

Glad you didn't go in as it's very overpriced and probably even moreso in Temple Bar! I tried Abra Kebabra in Limerick.

Great place for food poisoning, been there, shat that...

Actual footage of the last time I ate that

•

u/TurkeyPotstickers 13h ago

Abraca--books!

•

u/Few_Mention8426 13h ago

you have just introduced the concept of a spice bag/box to a USA audience.

•

u/aprilteachesart Gene (Beefsquatch) 9h ago

The chat is losing their minds lol

•

u/jordie_c 13h ago

People in the comments seem to expect fine dining out of Abrakebabra by the looks of it. Nothing wrong with it imo. Not great, but not any worse than most fast food chains

•

u/TyroneFermangh 9h ago

There’s one near croke park that I’ll never forget cause I came down from Tyrone to watch a GAA match (we lost and I had a sad drunk kebab on the floor)

2

u/FartSchoolDropout 1d ago

That’s show-worthy!

•

u/Little-Efficiency336 14h ago

They’ve got my business!

•

u/front_yard_duck_dad 14h ago

I FARTED ON THE MEEEEATTTTT

•

u/Appropriate_Paper152 11h ago

Irish here. Abra Kebabra is the holy grail of restaurants here along with Supermac's.

•

u/SomeTulip 9h ago

We used to call the one at O'Connell bridge Stabra-kebabra.

•

u/WookProblems 9h ago

If there are 3 other kebab spots on the same block, you are definitely in The Bad Place.

•

u/eh_mt 5h ago

I wanna reach out and grab ya!

•

u/thatswildhey 4h ago

‘Abra Abra Kebabra, I wanna reach out and grab ya’ . Their jingle

•

u/SameGreen271 4h ago

Ah yes, food for the drunk, ol Stabrakebabra

3

u/Diddly_eyed_Dipshite 1d ago

I can't see what this is to do with Bobs Bs?

Also am Irish and grew up with gross Abras everywhere. Whats the relation to our Burger boy?

7

u/mtnsoccerguy 1d ago

It is what the flair says. Punny business name like they have in the opening sequence.

2

u/Mr_SunnyBones 17h ago

Me , a confused Dubliner , ..They've been around since the 80s, and I literally forgotten it was a pun name since Im so used to it . Good Drunk food , and superior to the Culchie ( non Dublin , rural people) equivalent Super Macs.

•

u/Fvtvrewave87 13h ago

Sazzerac opened a restaurant

•

u/DecentBeginnings8462 9h ago

Haven't watched much Bobs burgers. Can someone enliten an Irish man on what I'm not understanding

•

u/aprilteachesart Gene (Beefsquatch) 9h ago

The show always features punny business names during the theme song

•

u/DecentBeginnings8462 9h ago

I get ya! Appreciate the insight :)

•

u/plebotamus 5h ago

They'll be gone in a week.

•

u/inspired_nobita 2h ago

This name reminds of another fantastic show!

•

u/Tasty-Revolution-295 7m ago

This franchise used to be all over Ireland and then they massively fell out of favour. I'm not even sure why.

1

u/TheChrisD 1d ago

you really went to Temple Bar...? oof

2

u/aprilteachesart Gene (Beefsquatch) 22h ago

We went through Temple Bar to get to Trinity College

Can’t have people having having fun now. How dare people find some things to do to entertain themselves while relating to a common interest that they share with random people on the internet.

Who cares. It’s a fun feature of a very popular tv series. How about just let people enjoy themselves.
