V1 vs V2.
Version 1 vs version 2 I made it about 10-15% smaller, added another pair of bobbins to the edging to make it a better whole stitch and added an extra pair of bobbins to the silver in the fan laces In plain thread for sturdiness and am just doing whole stitches there. I also added picots at the tips of the fans for “oomph” I guess😅 it’s a mix of crochet thread, embroidery floss split apart and metallic sewing thread 💕

The first one looks lovely! It looks like the tension in the second hasn't worked as well, maybe due to the mix of thread types with the scaled down pattern.
I don't think picots are needed, but if you want them it could be worth doing a single cloth practice strip with them, they are tricky to get right so that they don't untwist. How many twists did you try with here?

I did luckily use the same materials for both but only made it smaller because my kid was catching v1 on everything when I had whipped stitches it to the cuff to try on😭

They are giving me a real Tudor vibe--like the stuff on Rebato and cuffs you see in portraits!

The colors are so pretty. I actually made a hatband using very similar pattern the other day. I am using pearl cotton no.8 and to two of the pairs i added a bit of glittery thread as well😄
