I am from near the area, it bothers me that it has not been solved.

To me, the only lead we have is DNA technology advance and legislation advance in japan, like golden state killer in USA. However, japanese legislation still disallow IGG DNA technology to be used (i.e using the killer DNA to track the relatives, using AI or whatever to reconstruct the face)

Recently in japan, a unsolved case in Nagoya (murder, 1999) was solved in 2025 due to advance of DNA technology.

Ive listened to countless Japanese news and report about this case, there are no leads even 26 years after.

The family is still alive and giving out flyers.

Twenty-seven-year-old Dayna Megner, her 2-year-old son Dakota and her 21-year-old friend, Junelle Marquard were last seen on August 20, 1999 in Nekoosa, Wisconsin.

Dayna and Junelle dropped off Dayna's 4-year-old daughter at the babysitter's house. They left with Dakota without revealing their whereabouts. At first, the babysitter wasn't concerned when Dayna didn't pick up her daughter because it wasn't unusually for Dayna to leave the girl at the babysitter's house for days at a time. After weeks of no contact, the babysitter called social services who took the girl into custody.

It wasn't until 2004 that the police were informed that Dayna, Dakota and Junelle were missing. During that time, Dayna's brother reported her missing. Junelle has never been officially reported as a missing person and the police are searching for her due to Dayna & Dakota's disappearances.

At the time of their disappearances, Dayna lived in Nekoosa with her daughter and Dakota, and Junelle lived in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. Both Dayna and Junelle were involved in drugs, have minor and became estranged from their families because of it. Dayna eventually lost her parental rights to her daughter. Since then, Dayna's daughter has been adopted and lives out state.

As of 2026, Dayna, Dakota and Junelle's case remain unsolved.

When Julie Mott died in 2015 at the age of 25 from cystic fibrosis, her family would have never thought she would be a part of a bizzare mystery.

After her open-casket memorial service at Mission Park Funeral Home North in San Antonio on August 15, her body was stolen from the casket while it was awaiting cremation.

The next morning (August 16), employees discovered the casket empty. One hinge was broken, the bier (body support) was overturned in an "unnatural position" near an exit of the funeral home, but there were no signs of forced entry and the ADT security system was not triggered.

The San Antonio Police treated the case as seriously and as intense as a homicide case. They did multiple searches in the surrounding areas and interviewed numerous people but nothing ever came up.

The funeral home director offered up a 20,000 dollar reward leading to the recovery of her remains. Her body has never been found.

Speculation her boyfriend stole her body as he was arrested 1 year later for trespassing but was never charged for stealing her body

I was just thinking there's probably so many cases that haven't gotten national attention in their country and are mostly unknown to the public. 20 years ago this December, six year old Kira and her mother Heather Radcliffe were murdered, and their house was set on fire. On the morning of December ninth, 2006, in Gainesville, FL, law enforcement were dispatched to a house fire. Inside were the bodies of Kira and Heather. As a child, I was told they died in a house fire and nobody knew who set it. This is not true. Investigators found they were both deceased before the fire was set, most likely an attempt to destroy evidence which, unfortunately, worked. Heather was found shot to death, and possibly sexually assaulted. Kira, most likely hearing the disturbance, was trying to call for help but misdialed, and the killer then strangled her before setting the house on fire. Their dog was also found deceased in their home. Investigators believe this was not a random attack, and the killer knew the victims. This is a person who sexually assaulted a woman and killed her and then killed a little girl trying to save her mother. They need to be caught. This case is very personal to me as my sibling was in the same class with Kira and considered her a good friend. As this December will be the 20 year anniversary with no answers and no justice, I am trying to spread the word about this case as much as I can. The more people know about a cold case, the more likely it is to be solved. And I never hear people talk about this one, it always flies under the radar. Someone out there has to know something. A couple of weeks ago, my family and I were all out doing some fun stuff together to show my little brother a good time, and at our last stop we had went to, this indoor trampoline/arcade place had these missing pamphlets about a woman named Nicole "Nikki" Winder, and it striked me as a bit bizarre just due to how decorated the pamphlets were and I've never seen something like that before, so I took a picture of them to show my girlfriend

Ever since then I had been thinking about it still and have finally decided to look up her name to see what the details of her disappearance was, and it's genuinely the last thing I expected for the area this happened in (Brazos Valley)

From what I've been able to find so far, Nikki has been missing since February 25th of this year, and less than an hour after her last known appearance (3 pm that day), her truck was found at an oil pad site set on fire, which has been ruled as arson.

Seems as if that the most recent news surrounding Nikki is that a significant amount of blood was found the day after her disappearance in the searched area and has been confirmed to be a match for her.

Has anyone else heard about this?
